Here is the play you are asking about from... the Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates game, and this is correctly scored as just an RBI pop out and not a sacrifice fly. The only way you have a sacrifice fly caught by an infielder is if that infielder is running into the outfield. Here, Griffin is parallel, he is not running into the outfield. Yes, he is in the outfield, but running into the outfield means running away from home plate, and that is not the case here. This is a ball hit by Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers and it was ruled an error on Jake Mangum of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The only thing I can think of is that Mookie didn't appeal, because this is a base hit, it's always been a base hit, and it will continue to be a base hit. Except on this one play. There is no way a sliding attempt like this is an error.
