Today, while responding to a medical emergency, our members... discovered temperatures inside an elderly resident’s home exceeding 90 degrees. After ensuring the patient received the emergency medical care they needed, the crew wasn’t finished. Thanks to our incredible community partners at Cool Down St. Louis (CoolDownStlouis.Org), they secured an emergency air conditioning unit to help make the home safe & comfortable. Service isn’t always measured by the emergency itself. Sometimes it’s measured by the extra step taken after the call. Every call. Every day. 🚨 Anthony Joshua’s uncle says that bystanders stole AJ’s... phone when he was laying injured inside the car and he also blasts the Nigeran government “When they are supposed to help, you will see them bringing out their phones to make videos and even steal from the victims. That is not right. We even heard that Anthony Joshua’s phone was stolen during the accident; such attitudes must be discouraged. The police and other emergency responders should get to the scene of an accident on time and cordon off the place I want to condemn the lackadaisical attitude of our government towards anything emergency. To see Joshua crossing the median after the accident when he was supposed to be on a stretcher was distressing.” via Punch Newspapersshow more

Many inj¥red as U.S.-bound flight with 245 passengers makes... emergency return to Lagos United Airlines flight UA613, en route from Lagos to Washington, declared an emergency and returned to Lagos shortly after takeoff. Vanguard reports indicate that several passengers and crew members on the Boeing 787-8 sustained minor injuries during the incident. The flight, carrying 245 passengers, eight cabin crew, and three pilots, had to turn back while flying over Ivory Coast airspace. A passenger, speaking anonymously, revealed that the emergency occurred after seatbelt signs had been turned off. The aircraft safely landed back at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA). The passenger said: “We had already been served our meals when the plane lost pressure and dropped. We noticed a sharp descent. I hit my head on the ceiling because of the impact. I became unconscious, but one person from the medical team came to attend to me in the middle of the turmoil. The sharp descent happened three times, causing some people to sustain injuries. We spent four hours on air. In the midst of the turmoil, the pilot said we were going to land in Ghana, but we eventually landed in Nigeria.” Clarifying the development, the airline in a chat with Vanguard, said: “Flight UA613 from Lagos to Washington D.C. returned to Lagos to address a technical issue. Ten years ago, New Yorkers witnessed one of the... many extraordinary examples of NYPD courage and professionalism. After an incendiary device was thrown into an occupied NYPD vehicle in Times Square, the uniformed officers inside heroically drove the vehicle away from crowded streets to protect countless innocent lives until the Bomb Squad could make it safe. The suspect then barricaded himself in his car in Columbus Circle, claiming he was wearing explosives. Thanks to the exceptional work of our patrol officers, hostage negotiators, Emergency Service Unit, Bomb Squad, and countless others, the incident ended without injuries. Looking back at these photos from when I was Commissioner is a reminder that some of the NYPD’s greatest successes are the tragedies that never happen. I remain immensely proud of everyone who answered the call that day. Their courage, discipline, and teamwork reflected the very best of the NYPD—and continue to inspire a decade later. #CopsCountPoliceMattershow more

Woman Arrested After Four Men Stabbed In Random Scissors... Rampage In Covent Garden. The shocking incident took place just after 12.30pm today in Endell Street, Covent Garden, steps away from restaurants, shops and the West End, sending terrified members of the public fleeing as emergency services raced to the scene. Police say the suspect, a 47-year-old woman, was detained on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon after officers recovered what they believe were the scissors used in the attack. The victims, men aged 34, 39, 42 and 52, all suffered stab wounds and were taken to a major trauma centre. Two have since been discharged, while the remaining two continue to receive hospital treatment. Thankfully, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Witnesses described scenes of panic as one bloodied victim reportedly staggered into a nearby barber’s shop desperately seeking help after suffering a wound to his back. Businesses hurriedly shut their doors while police threw up a large cordon across the area and London’s Air Ambulance joined the emergency response. The Metropolitan Police have stressed they believe the attack was an isolated incident, with early indications suggesting it was linked to the suspect’s mental health. Officers say there is currently no evidence that the victims were specifically targeted and believe they were attacked at random. The investigation remains ongoing. Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart said officers arrived within minutes of receiving multiple emergency calls and moved quickly to bring the incident under control. Detectives continue to examine CCTV, speak to witnesses and establish exactly how the terrifying sequence of events unfolded. The woman’s identity has not yet been released, and no charges have been announced. #UKNews #CrimeNews #Londonshow more
