We have now been informed that a naval drone—which... is NOT Ukrainian (according to the Minister of Defense)—loaded with explosives was destroyed 80-100 meters from the Neptun Deep platform. F-16 were used to destroy it, firing their onboard cannons (the cannon is a 6-barrel rotary machine gun, kind of like the one on the Predator that Schwarzenegger used in the forest—only more powerful). Given that it was 80–100 meters away and wasn’t engaged by anyone on the platform or in the surrounding area, this concerns me. Back in 2023, I wrote about a secret everyone knew: Neptun Deep project is located within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ), so it’s in our part of the Black Sea, but it is NOT protected by NATO. This exclusive zone borders Ukraine to the north and northeast. Except that the northeastern part is de facto controlled by russia, as it is the EEZ of the Crimean Peninsula. Neptun Deep is focused on gas extraction and transforming Romania into the largest producer and exporter of gas in the European Union. Who do you think is most economically affected by this? Now Moscow itself increasingly requires protection as Ukrainian drones reach deeper into Russian territory with growing frequency. The result is a dilemma for the Kremlin. Protect the front lines and logistics networks. Or protect Moscow. Protect refineries and military infrastructure. Or protect the political heart of Russia. The appearance of additional air defenses around the capital may suggest that Moscow is becoming a higher priority, and that alone represents a strategic success for Ukraine’s long-range strike campaign. Medvedev and Peskov started making assurances that there will... be no mobilization in Russia and Russia is not preparing for one. Very recently, I wrote that one of the reasons for restricting the internet and social media in Russia is preparation for mobilization. Yes, there is an anti-drone logic behind it, but it seems much more like part of a stricter mobilization model: first, the Russian state suppresses communications and limits access to keep people within a controlled digital environment, and only afterward will it conduct a new wave of mobilization with less chaos and less room for resistance. Russia is preparing for a larger war and a broader mobilization. For the process to go smoothly, the regime needs to reduce information leaks, make summonses digital and unavoidable, and narrow the space for evasion and escape. That's why Russia has already launched electronic summonses - to make it harder for men to avoid conscription. We don't know exactly where the Kremlin will deploy the next wave of cannon fodder. But we do know that Putin is already expanding the army to 1.5 million active personnel, and the Kremlin has openly justified this by citing threats on the Western flank and the need to create new structures in the northwest.show more

Clearer footage showing the aftermath of Russia's KAB glide-bomb... strikes on the bridge in Slovyansk reveals that one side of the bridge remains standing, and is still passable for lighter vehicles. Civilians can be seen moving to and from the eastern suburbs using the bridge. Because Ukraine almost exclusively uses ordinary cars for logistics nowadays, they will still be able to use the bridge for the time being. Although, Russia may repeatedly strike the bridge in the future. Additionally, a large section of the road's anti-drone net was destroyed in the strikes, providing an entrance for Russian FPV drones. Ordinary Ukrainian cities: Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipro. Ordinary life, and... Russian strikes that should never have happened. Every day in Ukraine is marked by large-scale attacks with strike drones, mostly “Shaheds”—it was Iran that taught Russia how to produce such drones. Today, more than a dozen drones have already hit our Kharkiv, one of the largest cities in Ukraine. Ordinary residential buildings have been damaged, and so far 8 people have been wounded, including a 12-year-old girl. No country should have to go through this. And against this backdrop, speaking about easing pressure on Russia, lifting sanctions, and so on, is definitely inappropriate and unhelpful. Russia kills people every day and drags out this war.
