THE FIRST WAVE ON THE BEACH WON’T BE HUMAN... ANYMORE. Multi-legged robots don’t need the beach cleared first. That’s the entire point. Ukraine already ran the real version of this. An uncrewed boat dropped a robot on a beach. It opened fire with a remote machine gun before a single soldier landed. China’s done it too. PLA footage from October 2025 showed robot dogs paired with drones in a live amphibious landing drill near Taiwan. The real mission set: underwater beach surveys, mine detection, coastal mapping. Jobs that used to send Navy SEALs in first. This is now an official vehicle category for defense contractors — beach landings, amphibious recon, route clearance through the surf zone. The honest catch: this is mostly recon and mine-clearance, not an armed assault unit yet. Beaches used to be cleared by soldiers. Now it’s machines. Would you trust a robot to scout the beach before you land on it?show more

A pilot landed a plane in the ocean near... a Florida beach and survived Faith Tankley was flying from Fort Myers to the Bahamas when, about 27 km from shore, the right engine failed, followed by a landing gear malfunction. She decided not to try to reach an airport — with a full tank of fuel, a hard landing could have caused a fire. Tankley turned the plane toward the ocean, avoided people and buildings, and managed to land it on the water. The plane suffered almost no damage, and the pilot got out of it without assistance.show more

The ‘approach drought’ is alive and well everywhere, including... on the beach ❌🏖️ Girls go to the beach in skimpy bikinis and sit on the sand for hours hoping to meet a guy. The guys do not appear (anymore). ALL you actually have to do to meet sexy girls in bikinis yourself is: 1️⃣ Go to the beach. You do not need a ‘Chad physique’ either 2️⃣ Take a stroll along the beach. Lots of people do this. It’s natural 3️⃣ You can have a buddy with you if you want. Bring a beachball to make it more fun 4️⃣ Stop and chat with cute girls you see splashing in the surf or soaking in the sun 5️⃣ If they aren’t interested in chatting, keep strolling & opening till you find girls who are 6️⃣ When you find girls who are down, stop strolling and take a seat with them. Chat for a while 7️⃣ If it’s going well, invite them to grab food, a drink, an ice cream, etc. from a spot along the beach 8️⃣ If it’s still going well after that, invite them back to yours for wine or to watch a movie I started picking up girls at the beach when I was 25 lbs. overweight. I thought they would be put off by my lack of WASHBOARD ABS (I figured I’d get shot down but it was still worth a test… surprise, surprise, girls on the beach are chill!) but it turns out girls don’t care. Seriously, if you have the confidence to talk to a girl on the beach, you are instantly way hotter than the washboard ab dude sitting four towels down who just doesn’t have the balls to approach her. If you have the confidence to actually try to move the interaction forward, that x10. Go to the beach, man. You know how chicks on dating apps like to catfish you, and it turns out they are actually double the weight you thought they were? There is none of that at the beach. It is ALL on display. What you see is what you get. Yeah, you might be a little nervous approaching a girl with barely anything on at first, but just keep your eyes on her face and don’t stare at her boobs too much and you’ll be fine. Plus: if she likes you, she is going to want you to stare at her boobs a little bit. Have fun.show more

I'm trying not to let it get to me... too much, but this is something you really have to see in action on an actual 4K screen to understand why I'm unhappy with this. The upscaling method really does high-contrast characters no favors. Look how jittery K.K.'s nose and paws are here.show more

These two people were on their way to the... courthouse to get married when some unforeseen circumstances got in their way. Looks like an accident happened. It just so happened a multiple role medic was available allowing the marriage to take place. Would you do this or would you wait until you could both walk into the courthouse. 🧐This video may look like fun at first glance,... but if you think about it more deeply, it is chilling: these are Chinese citizens taking part in an immersive “landing on Taiwan” experience at a famous film and TV production base in China called "Hengdian". Look at these excited adults and children. In the minds of many Chinese people, “landing on Taiwan” has already become a form of entertainment. This way, when a real war breaks out, everyone will have already been psychologically prepared, right?show more

Almost got into an accident this afternoon while on... FSD. FSD thought the FedEx truck would make its turn quicker. When it realized it couldn't, it tried to go around. At the same time, there was a car approaching in the right lane. I assume FSD calculated there was space for me in the right lane, but it really should have just slowed down. I had to slam on the brakes and steer the car to the left to avoid the driver side of my car clipping the trucks bumper. It was way too close for comfort. I have done tens of thousands of miles on FSD and have never had anything this close happen before.show more

A HUMANOID ROBOT IS ON THE RUN. THE POLICE... CANNOT CATCH IT. The highway is blocked. Police cruisers and an ambulance are following behind. Ahead of them, a humanoid medical robot keeps running without slowing down or getting tired. A few years ago, this would have looked like a scene from a sci-fi movie. Today, it looks like an ordinary live news broadcast. This is 100% AI-generated. But what if this chase were real? How would you react to a robot the police could not catch?show more

you are making video games all wrong for decades... almost all game art time went into reverse-engineering the end result you start with concept art of what you WANT it to look like. then for YEARS you walk the computer backwards into something it can process: a rendering engine, 3d assets that fit that engine, and a gamer’s local hardware that has to turn all of that back into a high fidelity image incredibly slow. incredibly expensive. but it was the best we had ai makes that pipeline faster as everyone is figuring out today. but they’re missing the real unlock: YOU DON’T NEED THAT PIPELINE AT ALL if you have a reference for the end look, you don’t model it in 3d. you don’t reverse-engineer into an engine you keep a very basic greybox model of the world as the source of truth, and track every entity in real time. it doesn’t need to look good at all… the player never sees it! a fast video model turns that into the “game” in real time. it doesn’t have to look like a game. it can look like a 2d cartoon or cinematic live action fal’s h3 max is very fast. astra 6 low-effort too. neither is fully realtime yet but together they can generate continuous, coherent, player-controlled scenes, faster than playback early demo:show more

This is the LIV Beach pool area at Fontainebleau... Hotel in Las Vegas Look how many people are packed into this pool and day club area If you didn’t know what you were looking at you might think this was a Petri dish I looked up the capacity and this area can have 2,000 people. I put the photo into AI and it says there are way more than 2,000 people in this area This isn’t just gross it’s dangerous - People likely wouldn’t notice someone drowning - Everyone would stampede in an emergency - It’s wet people could slip and get trampled - Most importantly, again it’s grossshow more

You are looking at the echo of a creature... that lived 190 million years ago. An Asteroceras ammonite is an extinct marine animal from the early Jurassic period. It is related to modern creatures like squid and octopus, but unlike them, it had a coiled, spiral shell. At places like Charmouth Beach, part of the famous Jurassic Coast in the UK, you are walking over rocks that were once ancient seabeds. This ammonite would have lived in a warm, shallow sea, surrounded by other prehistoric life. 📹charmouthfossilsshow more

I’ve had a ton of questions regarding today’s first... inning in Kansas City regarding the Philadelphia Phillies at Kansas City Royals, and why all six runs were earned despite an error. The error by Turner is a throwing error, and while a good throw would have ended the inning, this is NOT an assumed out error because of the out at second base (this is where you don’t assume a double play). So, even without this error, all six runs would have scored, so the six earned runs against Christopher Sánchez is correct. EDIT: adding this, but again, the error here is only for the extra base advancement, not for being safe at first, as the batter officially was safe on a fielder’s choice. The only way you could have an error on this is if the throw was a good one and on target, and the first baseman missed or dropped it. Outside of that, the error is just for the extra bases, not for how the batter reached. He reached on a fielder’s choice. #RingTheBell #FountainsUpshow more
