You may remember when Sacramento County Sheriff’s Organized Retail... Theft Task Force Detectives arrested 37-year-old Chinese National Yubo Tian in August of this year, when Tian was caught with 6300 stolen gift cards from Target and Apple. Tian was part of an international scam involving tampered gift cards, scanning the bar code, and stealing money from the gift card as money was loaded. You may also remember that the courts released Tian on his own recognizance days later. Tian had no ties to Sacramento and admittedly entered the country illegally using a commonly used trafficker route through Central America and Mexico. Lo and behold, Tian failed to appear in court in Sacramento and became quite the international traveler. He returned to China in September, then traveled to the United Arab Emirates and Spain in November, then back to Mexico earlier this month. On December 12, he was caught trying to enter the United States illegally and was taken into custody. With help from the FBI , Homeland Security , and Placer Sheriff , Tian was transported back to Sacramento, where he remains in custody for his original arrest warrant at the Main Jail, ineligible for bail. [SANGOMA APPEARS IN COURT FOR PREMEDITATED MURDER] A Lesotho... National Sangoma, Sebokoana Khounyana (50), appeared at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates’ Court on charges of premeditated murder and Human trafficking of a 02-year-old baby Kutlwano Shalaba. A charge of premeditated murder was added against the mother Keneilwe Portia Shalaba (32), who was previously facing charges of human trafficking, conspiracy to commit robbery and making a false statement to the police. It is alleged that on 10 November 2024, the mother of the child took the child to the sangoma and requested him to kill her child because she was not happy with the gender of the baby and was tired of hiding it from her family that in fact, the child was a girl. The mother then allegedly fed the baby poison and after the baby died it is alleged that the two took the child and buried her body in a shallow grave in Waterpan After investigations by the police, the sangoma was arrested on 29 May 2025 and he subsequently made a confession and pointed out to the police about where the body of the child was buried. In court, the matter was postponed to 05 June 2025, for legal representation for the sangoma. The state intends to oppose his release on bail. BREAKING: A life insurance payout may have been the... motive behind the killing of 41-year-old Salom Nikanor, the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court heard this morning. Andreas Sunday Kanyanga (25) appeared in court on charges of murder and obstructing or defeating the course of justice. He was remanded in custody as police investigations continue. The State alleges that Kanyanga, a soldier, had taken out a life insurance policy on Nikanor. Prosecutors claim that while facing financial difficulties, Kanyanga allegedly killed Nikanor after becoming impatient that he was “taking long to die”, in order to claim the insurance payout. Opposing bail, prosecutor Naledi ||Hoeses told the court that the offence is serious and violent in nature. She alleged that Nikanor was unlawfully killed and that his body was later dumped in a water pan. The State further indicated that evidence points to mutilation of the body, demonstrating a high degree of violence and cruelty. ||Hoeses argued that granting bail at this stage would jeopardise ongoing investigations, including the recovery and forensic analysis of exhibits, outstanding post-mortem reports, and the tracing and questioning of key witnesses. Kanyanga was informed of his right to legal representation and indicated that he intends to apply for a government-funded lawyer. He was also advised of his right to bring a formal bail application, which the State said it would oppose. The court ordered that Kanyanga remain in custody at the Ondangwa police cells. A 17 yr-old teen, Jonathan Lewis Jr, was beaten... to death by a mob of black teens near Rancho High School in Vegas. The teen was attempting to help his ‘younger friend after being bullied’ when he was then attacked by the whole gang. Jonathan was found bleeding from his head, and taken to UMC where he was put on life-support. He died this past week.
