Another example of a game-replicated drill from Liverpool to elicit maximal speed effort from players. The sports scientists will be able to see what % of their top speed the players are hitting in real time using our Sonra Live system on the iPad.

KEEP OFF SEASON DEVELOPMENT SIMPLE Heading in to the off season soon, we’ll see a lot of players try to get better at everything and make their development more complex than it had to be. So much of development can be solved by focusing on shooting and playing. Within the playing focusing on ball handling (getting 2 feet in the paint), finishing, decisions and reads, guarding on ball and off ball. If you play with purpose and get your shooting reps up before or after you’ll put yourself in a great spot during the off season.

Oklahoma State is very lucky they were able to get a handful of their younger players to campus, and Brock Thompson is at the top of that list. That's not my opinion, that comes from folks who know a lot more about this than I do. He has the potential to have great "bat-to-ball" skills while also hitting the ball fairly consistently above 100 mph. His approach has been centered on hitting the ball hard, and hitting line drives, which still is, and will always be THE MOST successful ball off of any bat. Hard-hit Line Drives will always be the king, that will never change, and that's Brock Thompson. He has a treasure trove of tools in his bag that very few have, not an exaggeration. Again, that's coming from people who know this stuff a lot better than I do! #GoPokes #OkState

Bat Speed Doesn’t set up swing path!!!!Watch 35+ hitters in this video. U can literally close your eyes at this point in the swing. If done correctly you’ll hit it, if wrong, you’ll miss. Different eras, ages, levels, sports, coaches, teams and origins, all doing the same thing. This position is the most important of all of them (especially for younger hitters). No matter how fast the bat is traveling at this point, if it’s wrong, you’ll miss!!! Approach will range from the sternum to the belly button (high / low) and on the shoulder or off a little (in/ out). Watch your videos closely, if you’re missing a lot, this could be the culprit! *the standard feel for this is place the middle of the bat below the deltoid (in the boney area below the shoulder, now take swings connected. Move the bat up higher or lower based on the tee position, turn. As u get comfortable, then add all the snapping, whipping etc u want. But u better get through this position before contact) #StanceDoctor

College coaches aren't watching your kid's batting average they're watching THIS They're watching how she moves. How she loads, controls her body, and works through the ball. Not just swinging moving well under pressure. Recruiting isn't about stats at 12U. It's about movement.The best movers = less to fix in college. The kid hitting .500 because she's bigger? She won't last when velocity and game speed pick up. Movement translates. Results fade. Parents stop worrying about other kids. Stop chasing hits. Stop obsessing over averages. "Home Town Hero Parents" bragging about 11U stats? It doesn't help your kid. Focus on development. Teach them to move well and handle failure. Strike out? Celebrate the movement. Error? Celebrate the rebound. Drills matter. Purpose matters. Ally's working on center mass drills to control the zone. Every rep has a movement purpose. We don't copy social media. We train movement that translates. She's also learning to connect swing to throw, whipping the barrel into a top-hand release. Follow the throw. Whip the shit out of the barrel. Movement first. One more sleep!!!! I've been given the best present this Christmas - a surprise visit from my daughter and grandkids from Tassie (NOT AT THE TAXPAYERS EXPENSE). Thank you for everyone's tremendous support this year. I'll take a few days off to spend with the family and swim a few laps in the pool over these typically hot summer days before hitting the road again on January 2 across Tasmania. Be safe on the roads these holidays and I'll see many of you on the long list of stops we have planned in the New Year across the country. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
