Absolutely nailed it. Our preferential voting system is basically democracy with cheat codes.. confusing enough to make quantum physics look like naughts and crosses. Most voters have no idea they’re building a political Russian doll with their ballot, while Australian Labor and the Australian Greens sit back, collecting second... show more

@AustralianLabor He is a sore loser, plain and simple. He’s a LNP Stooge to the core, ffs his daddy ( the drunk) was president of the federal liberal party ffs. Who gives a flying fuck what this tosser says about anything at all, he’s a fuckwit, and his listeners are fuckwits too! Fuck off sook!

@AustralianLabor News flash: He has more relevance than a dumb fuck like you 🤷♂️

@AustralianLabor John Howard relied on preferential voting to win election but when the liberals lose then oh let’s change our voting system because it’s not fair. What a crock.

Truth is both parties have won elections (federal & state) with this system.. it’s not the point I’m making. What percentage of voters do you think understand exactly how preferential voting works? PS I’m not interested in “whataboutisms” I’m not loyal to any party or politician.

The 12 Democrats who make the most sense for 2028.

@AustralianLabor Liberals won 3 elections in a row thanks to preferential voting. But Labor win 2, and they sook. Same voting system!

@AustralianLabor You're a fucking idiot and want to change the rules because your brand of politics is losing. Most voters are smarter than you and know what they're doing. I'm from the UK, FPTP is shit. Voters need to tactically vote. MPs can get elected despite the majority being against them.

@AustralianLabor Tom Elliott is full of shit. First past the post leads to distorted outcomes due to vote splitting and tatic voting. Makes it even more difficult for minor parties to win seats.

@AustralianLabor How you win Gov now if via preferences. Stack the cards with your de facto parties and its all yours. Helps when 1 in 5 are gov employees and 1 in 5 are on the NDIS.

This will only work if we remove mandatory voting. Without a preferential system minor parties and independents have no chance as most voters are apathetic and only know the 2 party system. Removing mandatory voting means those who understand policy, party and governance decide, giving everyone on the ballot a fighting chance. #auspol

@AustralianLabor oh and you anti-preferencer lot are the toddlers here. Clutching at your "but my guy got more votes!" because you think it's all too hard! Boo hoo.
