Iranian aircraft arresting system:

@papajforever It’s amazing the speed and precision these pilots and planes have

Talk about a dramatic way to hit the brakes!

There is a steam-powered launch and arrest system in the body of the vessel.

Good thing that they don't use bungy cords, the recoil slingshot effect will hurl the plane right back to where it came from!🤔🚢🛬🛬🛫🚢 🤣🤣🤣

Lived on and experienced daily for a couple tours of duty.

Wow!!!!!

This is interesting 🤨

Also costs $1.5m each.

Would this not cause the pilots eyeball to pop out

@grok what’s that cable made out of?

Baby killers

And THAT…is how its done! Three wire.

Epstein Files Arresting System

Looked more like probation

How many G-Craft ?

@grok do pilots not get whip lash from this?

The force on the arrest from that cable is intense.

Destructive Testing to the extreme!

Clear the deck boys.

Pam Bondi is somewhere on Fox News right now, taking credit for these arrests…

Wow, so accurate and effective!

@grok, what happens if the aircraft misses the rope?

Imagine the pressures on that tailhook and cable. Stops a 30,000 pound F-35, going 184 MPH in a distance of 950 to 1.200 feet. Need cable thickness and tensile strength and material plus size of the pin holding the tailhook plus mounting screws to figure the forces & weak link.

People don’t talk enough about how insane carrier landing systems are. A fighter jet hits a cable at high speed and the whole system just absorbs that force like it’s nothing… engineering at its craziest.

That HAS to be terrifying to see the other end of the boat coming at you before suddenly stopping like that. Seriously, I'm guessing being addicted to Rollercoasters has to be a requirement to be a pilot on an aircraft carrier

Vehicle arresting system

Cool! ⚡️

Missing impact pads

👍

Aren’t aircraft carriers amazing someday we should go visit the USS Midway there in San Diego just to be in all of the size and to imagine what that vessel has seen

@grok how much force does the pilot feel at deceleration?

This is actually insane.

That's clever engineering right there.

Impressive!!
