Our mainstream culture is conflict-avoidant. There is the assumption that the less conflict there is in a relationship, the better it is. I disagree. If there is real intimacy, conflict is actually unavoidable. Because we are all different. The real indicator of health in a relationship isn’t the lack of conflict, it is the quality of our repair. It is the level of authenticity we can bring. That requires knowing how to be with conflict and disagreement, how to hold nuance. And it also requires practicing the art of repairing. Are we willing to show up and repair what we broke? Do we have the skills and capacity required for that? Avoiding conflict means avoiding truth and therefore avoiding real intimacy. This work is essential and transcends the personal. If we aren't capable of dealing with conflict in our own personal lives, it is no wonder that the world is in the state it is, where the most prevalent conflict management strategy is escalation.

I think people that are scared of beavers are the people that like to manage the land completely as if it's a garden. Farmers and people that breed birds for game shooting and all that kind of stuff. I mean, for them, the land is only natural when it's what they've set it out to be, to look like and to have in it. Beavers are wild creatures, they do their own thing but they’re superb for flood water management, an issue that we have to deal with, as the climate crisis continues to bite - they are also fantastic for habitat creation. An issue we have to deal with because we've lost so much of our wildlife.

I am actually disgusted by this. I’ve had so many teachers that changed my life and put me in the right path, without them I don’t want to think about where I would be. These teachers are sharing how much money they have in their accounts on the par day. In a society where our teachers are guiding the minds of the future, the people who will be helping us when we are later in life. I don’t think they are appreciated enough nor is the compensation package up to par. It perplexes me how they they have to spend a crazy amount of money for their education, only to struggle to get by with a smile while still being generous enough to pay for the items our children need without being reimbursed for much of it. I think it’s time we create a change, I don’t think it’s fair we expect so much of them and they give so much to us only to relieve so little. I know people are going to argue with me and say well they chose to do it so if they aren’t happy with the pay, they can get another job. While that’s true, we would be in bad shape however if they ever chose to do that. Who would be teaching our kids and preparing them for the future. I think we focus too much on things that aren’t and shouldn’t be our priority while neglecting and overlooking a major issue right below our noses. Their jobs are important and our kids would fail without them so why are we treating them like they aren’t important? It’s because it’s easy for us to think of them as our babysitters for half the day. We treat them like Nannie’s who only watch our kids while we go to work and do things we enjoy. Maybe it’s time we revisit our roles in helping them achieve our goals.

Orbán makes it clear, that’s not going to happen. “Their problem is how to live together with them. Our problem is how not to let them in so that we don’t have to live with them.” Some European leaders are starting to realize that letting in so many foreigners in such a short time and not leaving time for assimilation was a horrible decision. No matter where I’ve lived in life I’ve always had some neighbor that was older and seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. It never fails that they always seem to have an issue. At first I thought maybe it was just me but I’ve quickly come to realize that there are some people out there that are just so miserable that the only joy in life is to bring others down with them. So how do I deal with them? I’ve tried to just ignore people like that, it used to be my go to response but at what point do I stand up and say enough is enough? They don’t seem to be bothered by the police and they act this way towards children as well.
