Day 1 issue? Perhaps maybe like day 100? Day 1 should be securing our US borders. Day 2- the opioid pandemic! Just heard a case of a 1yr old baby in a daycare in NYC dead from opioid poisoning. Day 3- secure our schools with a federal mandate for all schools receiving federal funds to install metal detectors and screening points at all entrances like a courthouse. More than half of all federal government headcount are military full-time or reserves. So your plan is to cut the entire civilian federal payroll and half the military? Besides everything grinding to a halt, including inspections and permits, how do you plan to deal with the recession you’ll trigger? Brookings says: “Contrary to popular belief, the size of the federal government proportionate to the total U.S. population has significantly decreased over the last 50 years.” But hey, as part of that trend, one third of the federal workforce will be eligible to retire between now and 2025. So maybe you’ll only need to fire 42% of the biggest employer in the USA.
