Here's my hacky code for converting text to somewhat proper phraseology. Not perfect and not complete, but works as a simple POC

The big limiting factor here is Roblox limits this API to 6*CCU / min, so essentially each player could have up to only 3 transmissions a minute (call & response, so that eats up 2 requests).

I also forgot to add any filtering! So this is just the pure audio output. It would be easy to add some filtering to make it sound more like a lower fidelity radio signal

Reminds me of back in the day I was making an ATC system like MSFS. I could give it another go 👀 Also I feel like roblox could make a local version of TTS? On Mac at least the basic ones take up 10-20MB...

A local version would be great, especially as a fallback if you run into rate limiting

Sick! I take it a step further and I put an equalizer boosting the mids and squashing the highs and lows... Makes it sound like it's on a radio or intercom

So cool that it even has the correct rt phraseology for numbers

I had to transform the text to do that, but it was really simple string replacements (code is in one of the replies)

Was waiting for my favorite ATC game to implement this. It'd be a game changer!
