Great Britain will provide Ukraine with long-range missiles to intercept Russian ballistic missiles and other projectiles before they are even launched—according to British Prime Minister Andy Burnham. We will work together to provide you with the necessary support. This is not just about air defense, but about stopping Russia before it can even fire its missiles: through sanctions that disrupt supply chains for military equipment; through the use of long-range missiles prior to enemy missile launches; and through support for the development of new technologies and deepened industrial cooperation. Show our people that we are ready and capable to protect them anywhere, at any time. And show Russia, and all those watching today, that the transatlantic defense industrial base is mobilizing with purpose. Not in anger, but for our collective security." Russia, Russia, Russia. What's slightly awkward about this: Russia and Turkey are "frienemies," with deep economic/energy ties. Turkey even purchased Russian S-400 missile systems, triggering U.S. sanctions, which is back in the spotlight right now as Turkey and the U.S. try to work out a deal for F-35s. Writer: Michael

An investigation by Hunterbrook Media has found that the American technology company Ubiquiti is supplying Russia with equipment used by the Russian military in its war against Ukraine, including for drone operations, circumventing sanctions. The deliveries are routed through third countries, including Turkey, Armenia, and Kazakhstan. According to Hunterbrook Media, Ubiquiti radio bridges - wireless long-range data transmission devices that do not require cables - are widely used by the Russian military to maintain communications between units and to operate drones. Approximately 80% of the radio bridges used by the Russian armed forces at the front are manufactured by Ubiquiti. There are effectively no alternatives to this equipment. As part of the investigation, a journalist posing as a Russian officer procuring equipment for his unit contacted online stores selling Ubiquiti products in Russia. Many of these retailers use the company’s brand in their domain names and website designs, and some explicitly claim to be "official" distributors. Around ten sellers agreed to supply equipment for the needs of the Russian armed forces. Hunterbrook Media also contacted Ubiquiti’s official distributors. The Armenian-based company ITsupport agreed to ship sanctioned equipment to Russia. The American firm Multilink Solutions initially stated it could deliver directly to Russia, later withdrew that offer, but subsequently agreed to arrange shipment via Turkey. An analysis of trade data shows that the total value of Ubiquiti shipments crossing the border into Russia surged 66% after the invasion despite U.S. and EU sanctions and export controls. Ubiquiti itself claims it is unaware of where its distributors resell the equipment. At the same time, as Hunterbrook Media notes, the company has not announced a complete withdrawal from the Russian market since the war began. Although Ubiquiti’s website no longer lists official distributors and resellers in Russia and Belarus, an archived version of the site from 2014 includes a list of Russian partners - many of whom continue to operate and sell Ubiquiti products in Russia. In recent days Israel has placed a greater emphasis on striking industrial targets in Iran, with the most significant in recent memory being: - Khuzestan Steel Company, Ahvaz - Khuzestan Oxin Steel Company, Ahvaz - Mobarakeh Steel Complex, southwest of Isfahan - Mobarakeh Steel Power Plant (supplies energy to the steel complex) - Powder Metallurgy Company, Neyshabur Industrial Town - Shahid Shafizadeh Industries Company, Alborz Industrial - Kheyr Abad Industrial Town, east of Arak, was just warned - Shamsabad Industrial Town, south of Eslamshahr - Nasirabad Industrial Town, southwest of Eslamshahr - Segzi Industrial Town, east of Isfahan The above list is just a sample of the industrial targets affected by strikes over the past 1-2 days. Many of these facilities are dual-use, and so too were the intentions of the Israeli strikes. Large-scale steel production complexes support construction, automotives, appliances, and pipe manufacturing. It's also critical for military vehicles and launch platforms. Specialized heavy steel plate rolling mills support energy transmission lines, pressure vessels, shipbuilding, and storage tanks. They have many military applications such as producing the hull sections of naval vessels, storage tanks for propellants, and steel plates for TELs and bunkers. Powder metallurgical plants produce machinery components, mining equipment, and specialized alloys. They can also be used to make precision components in guidance systems, warheads, or solid-propellant motors. The major industrial towns are made up of dozens of smaller factories or warehouses involved in metal fabrication, chemicals, plastics/polymers, construction materials, textiles, machinery assembly, bitumen processing, packaging, stone processing, and electronic goods. On one hand this attempt at crippling Iran's industrial base could destroy many of the raw materials necessary for future repairs/construction of military equipment and missile components. At the same time it would hamper Iran's domestic construction, automobile, appliance, piping, and petrochemical sectors. This would diminish Iran's export revenue, create shortages of basic materials, and worsen inflation and unemployment.

Carney: "Canada's position is to maintain sanctions on Russia, including on the shadow fleet which is moving it's oil. There has been very tight cooperation between Russia and Iran at great cost to the people of Ukraine and a great threat to peace and security in Europe. The coalition of the willing has stood up to that — in providing the framework for security guarantees, in providing support and training and materiel to Ukraine, and in terms of sanctions which we stand by and will continue to do so."

🇺🇦🎯🇷🇺 Russia itself has now confirmed Ukraine’s successful missile strike on a major industrial facility in Samara, where the Progress Rocket and Space Center was hit deep inside Russian territory. Samara Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev acknowledged the strike and urged residents not to publish footage of the aftermath, saying emergency services were working at the site and information on damage and casualties was still being assessed. A fire continues at the TsSKB-Progress complex, with Ukrainian assessments indicating that the strike hit a key production area. The facility belongs to Roscosmos and produces Soyuz-2 launch vehicles and critical electronics, giving the attack significance well beyond ordinary industrial damage. Ukraine says domestically produced Flamingo cruise missiles were used in the operation. The Russian confirmation makes the strike particularly significant. Ukraine is demonstrating that its domestically produced long-range weapons can penetrate Russian defenses and reach specialized strategic-industrial facilities hundreds of kilometers from the border. For Moscow, every successful Flamingo strike creates another problem that geography can no longer solve: Russia must now stretch scarce air-defense assets across an enormous network of factories, airfields and energy infrastructure deep in its rear. Every terror attack carried out by Russia demonstrates that global sanctions against Putin's regime remain insufficient. Each Russian missile used by these beasts against our country contains components made by companies in other countries, not Russia. A Kh-101 missile has at least 53 such components. A Kh-47M2 Kinzhal contains at least 49 types of components that are not manufactured in Russia. The majority of these components are produced by companies around the world and brought to Russia through shady schemes. It is imperative to block such schemes and those who support them. There needs to be more sanctions. There must be greater accountability for sanctions evasion schemes. I am grateful to all the countries and leaders who are doing this. However, the pressure on Russia must be far greater. Only today, and only in the missiles that targeted Kyiv, more than 1500 components brought to the terrorist state from normal countries were found. This must stop, and the world has the necessary leverage.

🚨🇺🇦🇷🇺 UKRAINE IS NO LONGER JUST HITTING RUSSIA’S FUEL. IT IS REACHING FOR THE WAR MACHINE ITSELF. A reported Ukrainian strike has reached the Iskra electronics plant in Ulyanovsk, deep inside Russia. This is not another refinery. Iskra is tied to Russia’s Almaz-Antey defense-industrial network and produces electronic and semiconductor components used by the Russian defense sector. If significant damage is confirmed, the strategic logic is clear: Ukraine cannot match Russia factory for factory or missile for missile. So it is attacking the industrial nodes that help Russia regenerate military capability. Oil keeps a war moving. Factories help keep it armed. That is asymmetric warfare moving deeper into Russia’s industrial rear. Decode Conflict Military Analysis: The important question is no longer simply how far Ukraine can strike. It is whether repeated deep strikes can create cumulative bottlenecks inside Russia’s defense-industrial supply chain.

Channel 14 of the Israel: "Cooperation between Iran and Russia has significantly intensified in recent weeks, and the Caspian Sea route, particularly between the Iranian port of Amirabad and the Russian port of Olya, has become one of the most important channels for exchange between the two countries. Iran is providing Russia with military equipment and spare parts, including those related to drones, and in return, it is receiving goods, money, and information about American targets from Russia. This cooperation helps Iran to withstand the pressure of strict US sanctions. The main question now is whether Russia, along with China and other countries, will stand up to US pressure on Iran, or not."

🚨🇮🇹🇷🇺 BREAKING | Italy has carried out its first military boarding of a Russian shadow fleet tanker. The operation marks another step in Europe's growing effort to tighten pressure on vessels suspected of helping Moscow circumvent international sanctions. According to Italy's Ministry of Defense, Italian forces boarded and inspected the tanker Toa Payoh in the Mediterranean Sea after it was spotted sailing under the Cameroon flag. The vessel is listed under sanctions, prompting authorities to verify the legality of its registration and flag status. Reuters reports that the tanker changed its flag just one week ago, a move that reportedly drew the attention of Italian authorities. Although the vessel was not detained, Italian forces seized its registration documents, which will now be examined as part of an ongoing investigation into the ship's activities and compliance with international maritime regulations. The operation reflects increasing European scrutiny of Russia's shadow fleet, as Western governments intensify efforts to disrupt sanctions evasion and restrict Moscow's ability to export oil through opaque shipping networks. 🇷🇺🇵🇰 Pakistan turns to Russia to break free from Western AI dominance By partnering with Russia on artificial intelligence, Pakistan can reduce its reliance on Western technologies and sidestep the prohibitive costs of building its own computing infrastructure, according to Amir Jahangir, Co-Founder and CEO of Mishal Pakistan, in an interview with Sputnik. Pakistan’s government has declared AI to be a national priority sector, committing $1 billion to its development by 2030. It has also signaled interest in cooperating with Russia on AI initiatives "It creates a more Eastern based technology or Euro-Asian based technology platforms that can be used in Pakistan," Jahangir said In his view, Russia-Pakistan teamwork on AI could also extend to the following areas: 🔸 Cybersecurity. Pakistan aims to leverage Russian technologies to secure the digitalization of its economy. 🔸 Joint ventures and business-to-business collaboration. Russian cybersecurity firms and Pakistani businesses can form partnerships, mutually benefiting from each other’s technologies and market opportunities 🔸 Broader industrial integration, including at Pakistan Steel Mills, where Russian technical support could help revive the plant and transform it into a major industrial enterprise based in Pakistan

The EU will adopt its 17th sanctions package against Russia on May 20th. It will mainly focus on countering Russia’s evasion of existing sanctions and targeting its shadow fleet. - The package blacklists over 100 vessels used by Russia to transport oil and gas in violation of EU sanctions and the G7 price cap. These vessels are often old, uninsured, and operate under flags of convenience to obscure ownership. The new EU measures include banning these ships from EU ports and services. More than 50 individuals and entities will be targeted, including: - Russian officials and entities involved in cyberattacks, human rights violations, and destabilizing activities. - Firms and individuals in third countries, such as China, suspected of helping Russia evade sanctions by supplying dual-use technologies or other restricted goods. The sanctions will involve asset freezes, travel bans and restrictions on financial transactions. - The 17th sanctions package will tighten restrictions on the export of dual-use goods (items with both civilian and military applications) to Russia. It will include enhanced measures to prevent Russia from acquiring advanced technologies, such as semiconductors, through third countries. - Additional measures target Russia’s financial sector, with sanctions on banks or financial institutions facilitating sanction evasion. Apart from the 17th package, 3 sanctions packages will be passed on May 20th. They address Russia’s hybrid activities (e.g., cyberattacks, disinformation), human rights violations and use of chemical weapons. Collectively, these four packages are described as the "broadest ever simultaneous use of multiple EU sanctions against Russia," with over 130 individual sanctions across them.

‼️‼️🇩🇪🇷🇺 BIG | Berlin is preparing to directly blame Russia for the attempted drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport and respond with a major new sanctions push, signaling that Germany is ready to treat the incident as part of a broader Russian campaign against European security. According to POLITICO, Chancellor Friedrich Merz is expected to announce “extensive” measures, including national sanctions against Russian entities, increased support for Ukraine and German backing for a new EU sanctions package being prepared in Brussels. Around 1,600 individuals and companies are reportedly under consideration for EU measures, with broader sanctions expected this autumn. The announcement could come early next week around the EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Ireland, although Berlin may move sooner. The significance goes beyond another sanctions package. If Germany formally attributes the Leipzig/Halle incident to Russia, it would further strengthen the European view that Moscow’s confrontation with the West is increasingly extending beyond Ukraine into sabotage, drones and pressure on critical infrastructure. Berlin is already preparing for a strong Russian response, suggesting the next phase could bring a sharper cycle of retaliation between Russia and Europe. See the latest updates with us: Visioner

Today, there is also a significant political decision by the UK regarding sanctions – to maintain sanctions against Russia until the aggressor compensates for all the damage done to our people and our country. And it is very important that the assets of the aggressor state and all those associated with it, associated with the system of tyranny that the Kremlin has built on the territory of Russia, are used to compensate for the damage caused by the Russian war and terror. This will be fair, and I am grateful to all British people who support us on the path to justice.

❗️❗️❗️🇺🇦🔥🇷🇺 A massive fire has erupted in Russia’s Kolpino industrial area near St. Petersburg, engulfing a huge warehouse complex in a zone closely connected to Russia’s heavy industrial sector. The blaze reportedly began overnight and spread rapidly through the facility, which was used for the storage, receiving, processing, packaging and dispatch of goods and cargo. Russian reports indicate that the fire expanded across tens of thousands of square meters, with strong winds contributing to its rapid spread. The wider Izhora industrial zone hosts enterprises involved in heavy engineering, metallurgy, metalworking, energy and nuclear-industry equipment. Claims circulating that Ukrainian-linked saboteurs deliberately started the fire have not yet been independently established. Local reporting noted that residents did not report explosions associated with a drone attack before the blaze. Whatever the eventual cause, a fire of this scale inside one of Russia’s major industrial concentrations represents another serious disruption at a time when Russian industrial and logistics infrastructure is already facing mounting wartime pressure. Whatever the eventual cause, a fire of this scale inside one of Russia’s major industrial concentrations represents another serious disruption at a time when Russian industrial and logistics infrastructure is already facing mounting wartime pressure. The attached video captures part of my submission during the maiden meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). I emphasized that Uganda must invest not only in what we produce, but in how we produce it. Too often, our conversations focus on the final product, yet the machines, equipment and spare parts used to manufacture those products are largely imported. This keeps production costs high and limits our industrial independence. Uganda possesses many of the raw materials required to manufacture industrial machinery. If we invest in engineering, technology and machine-building, we can lower the cost of manufacturing, strengthen our industries, create high-value jobs and reduce our dependence on imports. Beyond meeting our own needs, Uganda has the potential to become a regional hub for industrial machinery, supplying equipment to markets across East and Central Africa. True industrialisation is not just about making more products it is about building the machines that make those products. That is where innovation creates lasting economic transformation.

🇪🇺🇷🇺 European authorities have detained the tanker MV South Star, a vessel linked to Russia’s so-called "shadow fleet," on suspicion of sailing under a falsely registered Cameroonian flag. According to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (GUR), the tanker was involved in exporting Russian oil products from the Black Sea ports of Tuapse and Novorossiysk during the period of Western sanctions and the oil embargo imposed on Moscow. The vessel is believed to have been part of the network used to help Russia bypass international restrictions on its energy exports. The detention underscores growing European efforts to crack down on Russia’s shadow fleet, which has become a key tool for sustaining the Kremlin’s oil revenues despite sanctions. If enforcement actions continue to intensify, Moscow could face increasing logistical challenges and higher costs in maintaining its global energy exports. See the latest updates with us: Visioner
