Postmaster General David Steiner told a Senate committee Wednesday that, if a proposed rule is adopted, the U.S. Postal Service would withhold mail ballots from states that do not hand over to the federal government lists of people who have requested absentee or mail ballots. Never in my wildest imagination did I think I would be called into special session over Memorial Day weekend and have to argue that military members and their spouses deserve to have their votes counted after they already cast their ballots. But here we are. South Carolina is trying to rush through new congressional maps while the election process is already underway. Military and overseas voters followed the rules. They requested their ballots. They voted. They sent them back. Now, because politicians want to change the maps at the last minute, those voters could have their ballots thrown out through no fault of their own. That is unacceptable. I have an amendment that says if the congressional primaries are moved to August, those military and overseas voters should automatically receive a new ballot for the new primary. That should not be controversial. But apparently, some folks are fighting me on it. Some days it feels like I am living in the upside down. It is Memorial Day weekend, and I am having to fight to protect the voting rights of the very people serving our country. If we say we support our veterans, our military members, and their families, then we should start by making sure their votes count. Standing strong. Holding the line.

On March 31, President Trump signed an unlawful executive order attempting to establish a national list of eligible voters and directing the U.S. Postal Service, an independent federal agency, to transmit mail ballots only to those on the list. If you watch one thing today, let it be this speech from Senator Bill Stanley. Senator Stanley is doing what Virginia Democrats are too callous and cowardly to do - he is saying the name of Stephanie Minter, the 41-year-old Virginia mom who was murdered by a vicious criminal illegal alien named Abdul Jalloh whom Abigail Spanberger and her Democrat allies have gone to extreme lengths to protect from deportation. Jalloh has more than THIRTY arrests. But Democrat soft-on-crime prosecutors have released him back onto our streets to continue victimizing Virginians. Even after viciously murdering Stephanie Minter at a bus stop, Abigail Spanberger is refusing to hand Jalloh over to federal authorities. While illegal aliens like Abdul Jalloh are terrorizing our communities and murdering innocent, law-abiding citizens, Abigail Spanberger and Virginia Democrats are demonizing the ICE agents who get criminals like this off our streets and out of our country. Stephanie Minter should be alive today. But as Senator Stanley says, Abigail Spanberger and Virginia Democrats care more about press releases and political posturing than protecting Virginians. And in fact, the argument is, the assessment is there needs to be much clearer guidance in terms of what is an executive orders, binding assessment of Title Nine, versus what has been a decision of a court. But ultimately, the real impact here is, once again, it is the Trump administration taking dollars away from Virginia, threatening education dollars to our public schools is an attack on Virginia's kids. It's an attack on our economy. It's an attack on Virginia's and as governor, the important thing is, as a candidate for governor, the important thing, the important priority for me, is to ensure that we have the best public schools in the entire country. LA is still counting votes almost a week after the election day. The county registrar told me that most of the outstanding votes are mail-in ballots that were dropped in the final days” According to data, In California and most vote-by-mail heavy states, people who vote by mail typically do so very early. Often within days of receiving their ballot Ballots are mailed to voters about 29 days before Election Day in California This means there is likely no good reasons for there to be this many mail in ballots coming in the last few days It’s rigged
