In coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration, the 12-minute flight of the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan took off from and landed at Hollister Municipal Airport in Northern California.

A remote pilot handled all the radio calls and monitored the plane during the flight from about 50 miles away at the company’s command center in Mountain View, California.

How in the hell did the FAA approve this? I cannot imagine the mountain of paperwork.

This doesn’t seem that crazy to me. We already fly drones and RC planes remotely.

FEDEX management waiting for them to do Boeing 76 next.

Of course it does fine in calm wind day VFR… 😂

Humans developing technologies to someday replace humans in the cockpits and real jobs with robotics. How ironic ! 😕
