If you have an asset in Figma and you'd like to change it's colour to your perferred colour (quick and efficient way), layer the colour over the image in "Fill" properties and apply a *colour* mix-blend mode to it. Exporting it as an asset has a different workflow.

🎓 Learn how to create a Cherry Wood Material in a matter of seconds in my latest video series (AAA) Pro Tips! ____________________________________________________ In this video, the steps are as follows: 1. Create a slightly red-colored fill layer with high gloss to act as the woods base material. 2. Add a second fill layer with a black mask, and inside that mask add a stripes greyscale set to planar projection. These stripes will act as the wood rings and should be projected onto your mesh in a natural way. The stripes should also be set to max softness, and followed by a Directional Noise 3 with a blend mode set to Difference. 3. Add a levels to tweak the mask and add an anchor point to the mask as well. 4. Create another fill layer with a dark brown diffuse, and store the information from the anchor point into its mask. Apply a levels to increase its intensity, and then add a fill layer up top with the anchorpoint information applied again, but set its blending mode to Subtract. 5. Create an additional fill layer with a very dark diffuse channel. Add a mask to the fill layer and inside its mask add a fill layer containing the anchorpoint information, from the Wood Rings. This fill layer can now be used to add some dark contrast to the center of the wood rings 6. A warp filter should also be used to apply some subtle imperfections to the wood rings and grain. 🟢Substance Painter Tip: The Passthrough blend mode in combination with the Smudge tool lets you adjust generated/filter results in a non-destructive way. E.g.: The Blur filter operates in 2D space, which can cause visible seams at the UV island borders. A fix for that is to add Paint above the Blur and use the Passthrough blend mode. Passthrough allows you to smudge the output below it. Works the same for standard layers!

How to Create Music That Matches Your Video's Sound with Suno Studio I made a quick video showing how I use Suno Studio to generate background music that fits the audio and mood of a video, similar to the example in the quoted post. This is the method I use at the moment but if you have a better approach, feel free to share it. Before starting, export the original audio from your video. I usually do this in CapCut. After generating a track you like in Suno Studio, you can import it back into CapCut and add it to your video. *This is not a paid partnership.

Here's a short example of how I used reference video to create and modify animations in The Last of Us Part I. In these examples I'm studying the body mechanics, posing, and giving myself a good understanding of the motion, while also looking for details that I can add into the animation. You don't necessarily need to do it at the same speed. And things will often change when you're animating it. This is a foundational step when you want to achieve realism. In addition, I'm always thinking about the character themselves, and the context of the moment. Ellie is a small (yet strong) girl. So I added in the sensation of the weight of the gate, bringing it back down as she's transferring grip, and how there is some play between the wheels and the rails it rides in. Little things that adds to the final result.

I think I found the most intuitive Blender texturing add-on for artists who work with NPR models relying on hand-painting 🥹 This is “Paint System” and I found it really simple to use and navigate! It really feels like using PS/CSP in Blender ദ്ദി(ᵔᗜᵔ) Here’s a simple video showing how layers work (very simple clipping mask & alpha locking too), changing layer blend mode, and you can then bake the layers into 1 & export image! Opacity of each layer can also be adjusted with a slider like in PS/CSP but I forgot to show it hahah It also comes with 2 very nice brushes!! I know there are other add-ons for the same job or can do even more things but just wanted to share this since I found it the most intuitive as someone who hand paints textures a lot in other art programs and have non-existent knowledge over nodes in Blender ;-; Link to the add-on in replies and happy painting!!!! (ᗒ⩊ᗕ)⸝ި ʕᦏ⌎ (yes it’s free! with an option to donate to the creator to support them too)

This smart material can be used on virtually any 3D asset. ____________________________________________________ In this video, the steps are as follows: 1. Create a base fill layer containing no information. We will use this layer to call out the core effects. Add a black mask to this layer and inside that mask add a paint layer and draw a simple pill shape. 2. Next, add a blur directional and be sure the direction is the same direction that your fabric is flowing to. 3. Add a UV border generator set to subtract to mask out any uv seams followed by an anchorpoint. Additionally, add a messy Fibers 3 fill layer set to overlay. 4. Use a levels to adjust the mask along with a sharpen filter. A warp filter should also be added to introduce some randomness. Add an anchor point at the top of the mask as well. 5. Create another fill layer with its opacity channel set to black and apply a black mask to the fill layer. Inside its mask retrieve the anchorpoint information from the previous fill layer. 6. Create an additional fill layer with a bright diffuse color along with a black mask applied to it. Add the anchorpoint information from the previous mask into its mask as well and this should give us some white fibers on the edges.
