Completed a 40 minute drive today using Tesla FSD V14.1.1, which included highways, more urban driving and multiple destinations. Didn't experience any major issues or interventions. Impressive ending at the Supercharger. I also show what the new Sloth mode is like on the highway. Full drive with commentary below.... show more

Here is my first drive on Tesla FSD V14.1.2 with the new Mad Max speed profile. Mad Max mode drives very quickly and confidently. It accelerates MUCH quicker off the line (love that) and maxes out at 85mph on the highway. If you like to drive fast, you're going to love this new mode. It may not come through on screen very well, but Mad Max mode makes the car zoom around town like it's on a mission lol. It's unlike any FSD mode Tesla has ever released before. Hurry mode now maxes out at 80mph on the highway, while the new Sloth mode matches the speed limit, which for me tonight was 65mph on the highway.

This is my second drive on FSD V14.1.1 Absolutely zero phantom braking or jitteriness. I mixed in a little highway — lane selections were good. Hurry Mode felt quick tonight. At the end of the video as I was turning in, the car slowed down for a bunny. Perfect drive.

🚨 Many of you asked us to test highway driving with Tesla Full Self-Driving v14.2.1.25. Here’s what we noticed: ✅ Speed Profiles are significantly improved. Hurry Mode is no longer capped at 10 MPH over the speed limit, and now travels with the flow of traffic. This is much more comfortable and requires no assistance on the driver’s end. Previously, I was helping it switch lanes with v14.2.1. ✅ Lane changes are performed much more confidently and FSD seems to make proper maneuvers at proper times. This was a regression in v14.2.1. This version is significantly better. ✅ Merging, switching lanes, and passing are all performed with zero interventions. Perhaps the most natural feeling of highway driving in an FSD update in some time. Well done Tesla AI

What’s new in FSD V14.2: • Self-Driving stats section that tells you exactly how many Self-Driving miles you’ve driven and the percentage of FSD miles • You can now select speed profiles and parking preferences while in park • Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, leveraging higher resolution features to further improve scenarios like handling emergency vehicles, obstacles on the road, and human gestures • Big improvement (in my experience) to overall everyday driving comfortability • Slightly less strict attention monitoring at times In my opinion, V14.2 is good enough to be sent to every AI4 owner where FSD is legal, and for Tesla to encourage non-FSD owners/subscribers to try it. Nothing But Nets: Tesla FSD v13.2.9 Aces 520-mile Trip Without Interventions On Thursday, I completed my return drive from Des Moines to Minneapolis, with FSD Supervised v13.2.9 flawlessly handling the 260-mile journey without any issues or interventions. I just got back from over 3 hours of driving to and around Boston using Tesla FSD V14.1.3. No interventions. It was great. V14 is ready to be released wide in my opinion. It feels noticeably smoother and more comfortable in everyday driving compared to 14.1.2. That's especially impressive since I tested 14.1.3 in Boston at night, while V14.1.2 was only tested in southern New Hampshire (less challenging). I only noticed one minor hesitation at a stoplight and one issue during a curbside drop-off at the start of this video, where it circled the block once before pulling over in the correct area, but both were not a big deal. I had no safety issues tonight. There was also an interesting moment in the video where I accidentally set the curbside drop-off area in a dead end street. FSD took a little while figuring out how to back out, but it eventually did it without my help. If you'd like to watch the 4K version of this video on YouTube, I've linked that in the thread below.

Watch as Full Self Driving navigates for over 2 hours (condensed to 45 min) in the most complex parts of New York City. I was exhausted by the end as FSD dealt with difficult situation after situation. This version is absolutely better than 13.2.1 and significantly better than any v12 version. Here are the new destination options in Tesla FSD V14. You can select from 5 parking choices or curbside for Robotaxi-style drop offs. Your preferences for arrival options and preferred parking positions are remembered for each destination. Tesla’s reasoning model also evaluates the best options for your destination and selects the most intuitive default. I’ve experienced all options in my Model Y and they work well. The new speed profile layout is on the top, which includes the new sloth mode. Sloth mode is good for slower or more nervous drivers, or for those that prefer to match the highway speed limit and stay on the right lanes.

The idea that Tesla is alone in the race to develop end-to-end vision system for self-driving and delivering into consumer vehicles is officially dead. Like dead, dead. I tested Xpeng's VLA 2.0 in the streets of Beijing, and it is comparable to my experience of daily driving Tesla FSD v14. Xpeng is not charging $100 a month to drive this. It is inlcuded in its higher-trim vehicles and it already caught the attention of Volkswagen, which is going to integrate into its own vehicles - something Tesla hasn't been able to do despite trying. Two reasons I disengage from Tesla FSD (HW4): 1.) I want FSD to take a diff route than suggested. Potential easy solution in the video: Just let me "draw" the route I wanna take. 2.) The full-stop at stop signs. I tap the accelerator when using FSD to do a rolling stop which is way more natural. The NHTSA made Tesla do the full-stop thing in 2022 and it's just annoying, especially when driving through a neighborhood with tons of stop signs. It feels polished vs 14.3 and it my opinion is ready for wide release. • With 14.3.1, you can now tap on the new "P" parking icon and bring up your different parking options • Mad Max mode on the highway feels slightly more conservative with top speed (favors low 80s more often), but will now get to the right lanes sooner to prepare for exiting the highway. In this first drive, Mad Max did not go above 83mph, despite no cars around me most of the time. Follow distance is also more comfortable. I like all these things. • I'm having zero brake stabbing issues on 14.3.1, whereas I had a couple on my first drive with 14.3 • Urban lane selection is better vs 14.3 • Navigation routes and occasional parking alignment still need some work, but that's not a reason to hold back wide release. It still surprises me how much quicker V14.3 reacts to things. If a car pulls out of a parking spot as you drive by, FSD hits the brakes before you even know what's going on. The 20% better reaction time is definitely noticeable.
