Chief Bisi Akande did not govern Osun for Ila alone. Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola did not make the state about Okuku. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola did not govern only for Ijesaland. These acts are not ordinary criminal activities but appear to be part of a calculated attempt by desperate elements in the opposition APC to undermine and discredit the remarkable achievements of the current administration ahead of the forthcoming governorship election. Having failed to match the Governor’s impressive record of performance, these elements seem determined to destroy the very projects that are transforming communities across the state in order to create a false impression of government failure. These acts of sabotage is strongly condemned in the strongest terms and those behind them should know that public infrastructure belongs to the people of Osun State, not to any political party. The destruction of roads, public facilities, streetlights, and other government assets is an attack on the collective interest of our citizens and will not diminish the resolve of Governor Adeleke to continue delivering dividends of democracy to every part of the state. Yesterday evening, I inspected the vandalized section of the Lameco Flyover in Osogbo. I commend the hardworking engineers from the Ministry of Works who have swiftly mobilized to the site to ensure the immediate repair of the damaged section. During my visit, I received direct briefing from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr. Bashiru Bello, on the circumstances surrounding the act of vandalism. It is unfortunate that some saboteurs, whose sole objective is to undermine our developmental strides and destroy the legacy of this administration, would resort to attacking public infrastructure built with taxpayers’ resources. I enjoin security agencies to strengthen the protection of public infrastructure across the state and ensure that those responsible for this criminal act are identified, arrested, and brought to justice. These projects belong to the people of Osun State, and every well-meaning citizen has a responsibility to protect them from acts of sabotage and vandalism. My administration remains resolute in its commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and will not be deterred by the actions of those who seek to impede our progress.

When Governor Adeleke met with the “Federal might," it was a normal visitation, but when the APC governorship candidate, AMBO, met with the “Federal might," it was bragging—OKAY! The president of Nigeria is an APC member. He has the right to support any APC members vying for election in Nigeria. Under President Tinubu's administration, we witnessed a free, fair, and less violent election in Nigeria. Recall the 2022 election: an APC member, FPMBUHARI, was the president in 2022, yet you didn’t accuse the OSUN APC of “Federal Might” when we lost to ADELEKE. It’s now that you all are playing a pity game. The Osun election is about grassroots political workings and not social media politics. The margins in the Osun election are always closer between the APC and the PDP, regardless of the candidates both parties presented. The Osun election is always tied—this already refutes your “wide margin speculation.” These are the results of the last two elections in Osun State. Osun 2022 result. PDP—403,371 APC—375,073 Osun 2018 result APC—255, 505 PDP—255,023 The current political structures don’t favor Adeleke. The PDP structure has collapsed, the Accord structure is weak, the bigwigs who assisted the governor's emergence have left the party, no Aregbesola anti-party, there is no voting till 11pm in Ede again, there are no sympathy votes, etc. The current Osun election DATA doesn’t favor Governor Adeleke. No Chochocho. No emotional or media blackmail would work this time around. Please, Egbon, always tell the governor the truth! The only governor who had a wide margin was Aregbesola. Earlier today, I addressed a World Press Conference in my capacity as the Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) on the disturbing rise in political violence in Osun State and the tragic killing of 14-year-old Ezekiel Olapade in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area. With deep sorrow, I condemned the gruesome murder of the innocent teenager and demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of Saheed Kareem, popularly known as "Tanfeani," and every individual connected with this heinous crime, following the public identification of the gang leader by the police. I warned that political violence is fast becoming a dangerous trend in Osun State, posing grave threats to peace, security, and democratic stability. I noted that the unfortunate incident in Ilobu is not isolated, but part of a disturbing pattern of violence that has claimed lives and endangered citizens in Ikire, Ilesa, Owode-Ede, Osogbo, and other parts of the state. I called on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu TUNJI DISU, psc(+), NPM Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Police Force_CRU, to order a comprehensive investigation into all incidents of political violence and ensure that perpetrators, sponsors, and collaborators are brought to justice irrespective of their political affiliations or social status. I also expressed our lack of confidence in the leadership of the Osun State Police Command under Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gottan, citing the recurring incidents of violence and the growing public perception of selective law enforcement. Consequently, I called for his immediate redeployment and a thorough investigation into the apparent operational failures under his watch. Furthermore, I appealed to the National Human Rights Commission, civil society organisations, election observers, diplomatic missions, and the international community to closely monitor developments in Osun State before the situation degenerates further. As supporters of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and members of the Accord family, we remain committed to peace, democracy, and the rule of law. However, peace can only endure where justice prevails and accountability is guaranteed. Enough is enough. No society can prosper under the shadow of politically motivated killings. We demand justice for young Ezekiel Olapade and all victims of violence. Escaping The Public Contract Trap While Building African State Capacity: The Examples Of Ghana And Burkina Faso Two road projects currently underway in West African neighbours Burkina Faso and Ghana have raised an interesting question about how African public infrastructure is built and whether the assumptions behind the popular existing models are wrong. The received wisdom for decades has been that roads and other public infrastructure projects are packaged into "contracts" or "tenders", which are then awarded to private business entities in a project that is perennially tainted with waste and corruption. Burkina Faso's Ouagadougou - Bobo Dioulasso Expressway and the first phase of Ghana's Accra - Kumasi Expressway have both achieved impressive levels of delivery after being assigned to the Engineering Corps of the respective militaries of both countries. These projects have proceeded with minimum fuss, maximum output and close to zero waste, which begs an important question: In a developing country still recovering from the economic and societal devastation of colonisation and neocolonialism, why does the military not play a larger role in infrastructure development, and who decided that such an important function should be left to "the market"? The received wisdom for decades has been that roads and other public infrastructure projects are packaged into "contracts" or "tenders", which are then awarded to private business entities in a project that is perennially tainted with waste and corruption. Burkina Faso's Ouagadougou - Bobo Dioulasso Expressway and the first phase of Ghana's Accra - Kumasi Expressway have both achieved impressive levels of delivery after being assigned to the Engineering Corps of the respective militaries of both countries. These projects have proceeded with minimum fuss, maximum output and close to zero waste, which begs an important question: In a developing country still recovering from the economic and societal devastation of colonisation and neocolonialism, why does the military not play a larger role in infrastructure development, and who decided that such an important function should be left to "the market"? I’m glad people are beginning to see how badly run Governor Jide’s administration has been. There are far more abandoned projects than completed ones, and that is very disappointing. It feels like seven years have passed with very little that directly improves people’s daily lives. Under this administration, you can see a 50-meter road taking almost eight years to complete. Basic infrastructure now looks like rocket science. Many projects are started but never finished across Lagos, both in highbrow and low-income areas. If you want a current comparison, look at Nyesom Wike who is very much a "politician". His administration is ongoing just like this one, yet he has already delivered over 15 flyovers and more than 300 roads. Meanwhile, Lagos has more resources, talent, and access to funds, yet we still struggle to complete any meaningful major bridge. Even the Opebi Link Bridge has been completed for months but is still not in use. Another issue is the state of major roads. The Lekki‑Epe Expressway is a critical road that should be rehabilitated to the highest standard, yet just see the shabby work his team is doing. Why not give such roads to reputable companies like Julius Berger, Craneburg Construction Company, or Hi‑Tech Construction Company to fix them properly? So when are they going to do the finishing if not now? Even the drainage infrastructure in the whole of Lekki today is still largely what was built during the administration of Babatunde Fashola around 2008, with no meaningful upgrades despite the massive population growth,all the interlock laid by Gov. Fashola has been eroded and its less than 7 months to E1..yet no single sign of environmental management. At the same time, the government keeps announcing huge IGR figures, but people cannot clearly see the impact of that money on infrastructure. We have substantially completed the reconstruction of Tam Balogun Road in Ijebu-Ode, with all major asphalt works now finished under our administration’s ongoing drive to strengthen road infrastructure across Ogun State. The project is currently at about 98% completion, with only lane markings left to be carried out. 📌📌📌One state, One governor. Using the substantial FAAC allocations being received from the Federal Government led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu to permanently rewrite the destiny of his state. Meanwhile, some governors are stashing away funds meant for their people or spending them on needless projects, while heaping blame and telling lies about Mr. President. History will judge all of us for what we do today, even when we appear untouchable because we wield the power of the state. No one remains governor forever. What endures are the projects we build, the lives we touch, and the opportunities we create for our people. Even something as simple as releasing local government funds and allowing the councils to use them judiciously for grassroots development can become a defining legacy. Governors have come and gone. History is filled with examples of those who served their people faithfully and those who did otherwise. Stash away the FAAC. People ask me all the time, “Can a Democrat win in Oklahoma?” The answer is YES. Because Oklahoma is not a red state, it’s a gerrymandered state. Just two governors ago, we had a Democratic governor and a more balanced legislature. Today, Oklahoma is ranked 50th in quality of public education and 49th in access to affordable health care. After nearly two decades of one-party control, we are at the bottom of the lists that matter most to working families. It’s not because Oklahomans don’t care, it’s because the maps protect politicians instead of representing the people. Oklahomans want a governor focused on what actually affects their lives: strong public schools, affordable and accessible health care, and an economy that works for everyday families. Those are not partisan issues. They are Oklahoma priorities. As Governor, I will fight for real, sustainable investment in our public schools, including meaningful pay raises for teachers and support staff. I will work to strengthen and expand access to affordable and accessible health care, especially in rural Oklahoma. Please continue to build more infrastructure. For example,Lagos needs more infrastructure, especially with the level of real estate development going on.
