Any canned foods? Tuna? Sardines? Tinned tomatoes? Is food industry researching an alternative solution to whatever problem the plastic lining seeks to resolve? A non leeching plastic? Or a canning process that never brings hot food in contact with the lining? Plastic is used as convenient wrapper for cheese, meats, leftovers to stick in fridge. Pretty universal.
