and of course, there's a radio in there. so if you're into the new slopcore genre, you'll love the drive. (sound on!) cc @anabology

This is so sickkkkk @RyanSael .... i was inspired my @mrdoob too and started one a few days ago....

@mrdoob so sick! wow love the rain particle that makes a nice warp effect!

If you're new here, hey! 👋 I'm constantly experimenting with 3D on the web:

ha I made something similar. born to fly. yours looks much more polished though.

if you want people sharing spots in it, put the seed and camera position in the url hash. endless cities are great right up until you can't find that one cool block again

it is done, copy link will now grab the seed and exact position and time of day

that was quick lol, time of day in the link is a nice touch, worth putting a version number in the hash too, so old links still land in the same spot after the generator changes

Going to try it 😜

don't break it!

Impressive

Appreciate you! any idea to improve it?

Continue to improve the city fog and utilize it to improve performance and hide draw distance / pop-in. Use that performance to improve triangle counts / geometry on buildings. Improve vehicle models. Maybe add landing zones or air parking to some special buildings. Get out on foot and view the city from a balcony.

all these are great ideas! definitely picking these up. at some point, this thing might turn into GTA 6 or more accurately Cyberpunk 2077 lol

I was thinking more like Crazy Taxi but in the Fifth Element universe. Lol

that would be sick. in this one could just drop passenger from above lol

This looks beautiful

Extremely cool

Open source?

Did you build your own engine or use another known engine ?

no engine required

Doesn't make sense ever game has an engine it tell exactly what goes where and how graphics are applied and logic to physics to lighting it's running on an engine I build games they need engines

Love the concept. Will this become a game ?

could be. would you play?

Insane. btw whats the song you used in this, its a ripper and i cant find it with shazam 😭

dang this is awesome

Seems fun

reminds me of bhunter

Just wow

How did you do this with, belender?

An endless procedural city running in WebGPU is wild. Are the buildings generated in compute shaders, or are you chunking on the CPU and streaming as the camera moves?

The most of these kind of demos spreading these days, look to me as cool as useless

Where did the first frame-time bottleneck show up: city density, traffic, or draw distance?

probably density, seeding

Do you seed chunks just ahead of the camera, or does the generator lay down a wider region first?

not really sure man. opus did all the work lol. But I guess the seed chunks progressively ahead of cam. like when pressing 'new city' while on turbo mode, while roaming above high, you'll notice it

The turbo-speed pass is a good stress test. You notice the seams while moving through the city, not judging a static frame.

Wow

Endless?!! 😳

Opus made my game’s ad entirely in code and I was proud of it. Then you built an endless city with a radio 😅

😅

Nice. I wonder how long it would take if you had to compile for all the changes that the agents do in C++.

❤️

Procedural and endless — the first city where nobody needs permits because nothing was ever actually decided.

This is great My benchtest for new models is building a cyberpunk spinner sim. This is the best so far. You should adapt the buildings to look like bladerunneer 2049

Oh wow

How much time does it take for you to make it all? Could you make the same with a Open Weight model ?

since this reply was made: I don't think any current open-weight model can do this at the moment. Probably possible, but it would take way more time and guidance

now I understand a bit how it's working. really amazing man.

i thought no one would press that button lol

Tried in Firefox. Never loads. Works in Edge, BTW

Never played it, but it reminds me of The Fifth Element.

This kind of just makes me want to port my code to Unity.

That’s so tuff 🔥
