Fable 5 returns today. Sonnet 5 dropped yesterday. Both stories in one video. Sonnet 5 uses 1.35x more tokens than Sonnet 4.6. Sonnet models are supposed to be fast, cheap, and efficient. Sonnet 5 is none of those. Fable 5 is back but moves to usage based billing on... show more

Fable 5 is BACK on AI/ML API We gave Sonnet 5 and Fable 5 the exact same prompt and same real flight dataset of 70 airports and 435 routes pulled from flightradar. Then asked each one to turn it into a cinematic 3D globe as a single HTML file. Outputs: Sonnet 5: 9.8k tokens, $0.10 Fable 5: 15k tokens, $0.77 Sonnet 5 came in 87% cheaper. It drew the routes, but the planet underneath them barely exists: a dark wireframe with the arcs floating in space. Fable 5 built an actual Earth: textured oceans, ice caps, atmospheric glow. Mythos-class models are truly a masterpiece. Docs, guides & setup below:

Big day for Claude fans! We now have Sonnet 5 and Fable is back tomorrow 🙏 I saw a lot of misunderstandings about Sonnet 5, so I rushed out a video to try and break it down.

Sonnet 5.5 is priced the same as Sonnet 5, but it typically needs far fewer tokens to do the same work. In our testing, it costs up to 30% less per task than its predecessor. It also generates output more than 30% faster, making it our fastest Sonnet model to date.

Claude Sonnet 4.8 is imminent. Most likely dropping today. Sonnet 4.6 is starting to look outdated. Look at the Flappy Bird test on BridgeBench. GPT 5.5 and Claude Opus 4.7 have moved past it. The model that used to be the default for most vibe coders is falling behind. Anthropic needs Sonnet 4.8 to close the gap. The second it drops, we're running it through every BridgeBench test and posting the results live. New Sonnet day. Let's see what Anthropic has.

Grok 4.5 operates at Opus-level intelligence and Sonnet-level pricing! We tested it against Claude Opus 4.8, Sonnet 5, and GLM 5.2 on a SpaceX mission: liftoff, stage sep, orbit insertion, satellite deploy. Grok 4.5 animates it more accurately and vividly than Sonnet 5 and GLM 5.2. Opus is the fastest and most expensive. Grok burns more tokens but still lands ~40% cheaper than Opus, and a bit under Sonnet 5. Time / tokens / cost: Grok 4.5 — / 35k / $0.69 Opus 4.8 — / 13.7k / $1.10 Sonnet 5 — / 22.1k / $0.78 GLM 5.2 — / 92.7k / $0.13 yet GLM did the whole mission for $0.13 😮

I had early access to Sonnet 5.5 and it's a colossal jump from Sonnet 5. This model is REALLY GOOD and BLAZING FAST. Here are some things I made! Wolverine

sonnet 5 is routing to sonnet 5.2 looks like all 3 claude models are now routing for some users and from testing: > opus 5.2 is the biggest jump > sonnet 5.2 looks way better too > fable 5.2 is only a small jump at this point anthropic got whole new claude 5.2 family getting ready to release when do you think they will release them?

Anthropic just dropped a 45-minute workshop on how to build agents with Fable 5 for 20% of it cost. "give Fable very difficult tasks - that's when you actually see the value" • 10% → 1:40 - full capabilities of Fable 5 • 30% → 11:13 - how to build evals with Fable • 55% → 13:29 - when to use Fable & Sonnet • 80% → 17:23 -how to use Fable 50% cheaper • 100% → 18:03 - Fable 5 Agents orchestration patterns This is worth more then 100 youtube with on how to use Fable 5 Watch today - then read the full playbook below ↓

Grok 4.5 is a "Wow!" moment. 🤯 > Opus 4.8 & GPT-5.5 level on benchmarks > Costs less than Sonnet 5 Is that real? Hard to believe. Added Grok 4.5 as an implementer agent in fable-advisor. It replaces Sonnet 5. Use Fable as the orchestrator and a combo of: 1. Grok 4.5 2. Opus 4.8 3. GPT-5.5 As implementer agents. Uses the Grok Build CLI so if you log in with an X premium account you don't have to pay API fees.

Was really interesting to hear John, Beren, and Charlie speculate about why Sonnet 5 and Opus 5 feel like worse models than GLM 5.3 (despite the fact that Anthropic can do raw logit distillation from Fable, and can also train Sonnet/Opus on the environments from which Fable was trained). Led to some interesting thoughts about value of distillation, what it takes to do distillation effectively, and what kinds of model behaviors are hard to extract from distillation.

FREE Fable 5, Opus 4.8, Sonnet 5, and GPT-5.6 in one IDE. Alibaba built it, 520 credits at signup - one Sonnet 5 message eats 4. It's called Accio. Web or Windows desktop, both free. Registration takes 30 seconds via Google or email. Inside: → Fable 5 for creative and long-context work. → Opus 4.6 through 4.8 - the full Anthropic frontier lineup. → Sonnet 5 for speed and reasoning at pennies per message. → GPT-5.5 for OpenAI native tasks. → Gemini 3.1 Pro and 3.5 Flash for multimodal. Real math: 520 credits divided by 4 = 130 Sonnet 5 messages in your first week. Cheaper models drop that even further. Anthropic charges $20/month for the same access with weekly limits. Custom MCP support built in. Profile > Settings > MCP. Every agent workflow you've built for Claude Desktop ports over instantly. Setup: → Go to accio(.)com → Sign up with Google → 520 credits land automatically → Pick your model and start firing prompts Bookmark this before Alibaba puts it behind a paywall.

Head of Anthropic Labs: "Fable is one of those models you'll just remember - like Sonnet 3.5, Opus 4, Opus 4.5. Fable is way smarter than me. It finishes a task, lists its trade-offs, and I have to ask it to explain them to me." in 20-minute talk, the Anthropic head reveals the full capabilities of the Fable 5 model in practice. Watch it now, then read how to use this frontier model in the article below

"Its (Sonnet 5) performance is close to Opus 4.8, at lower prices." So I ran 4 canvas test through both. > Opus 4.8, 4/4 actually animating. > Sonnet 5, 2/4 came back as static images. And "lower price"? On the paper shredder task, Sonnet 5 spent $0.36 for a static image. Opus 4.8 spent $0.18 and it actually animated. The 4 tests: > Win 98 drag-to-BSOD > Self-typing keyboard + CRT > Letter burning > Paper shredder

i tested sonnet 5.5 on "code-to-painting". every pixel is generated by python the model wrote. it's shown a photo, writes a brush engine, renders, looks, and revises. you can see the large step-up from sonnet 5 in terms of coding + visual reasoning.

Today we launched Claude Sonnet 5.5! 30% faster and costs up to 30% less than Sonnet 5 for most work. Strong for well-scoped everyday tasks (fixing bugs, creating docs, slides). Lance Martin had models paint the same photo in code. You can see the jump:

$SITUATION EXPLAINED: Kimi K3 just beat Fable on a major coding benchmark, at a fraction of the price. • Kimi K3 beat Fable on Frontend Code Arena • The gap between Kimi and Fable is bigger than the gap between Fable and Sol • It also smashes Opus outright, while being priced the same as Sonnet, $3/$15 per million tokens • Sonnet 5 High currently sits in 10th place on this leaderboard at that same price point • The generational jump is dramatic: Kimi K2.6 ranked 18th on this benchmark, K3 jumped 17 spots to take the top spot • K3 ranked #1 in 6 of 7 tested domains: brand and marketing, reference-based design, data and analytics, consumer products, simulations, and content creation tools, it placed #2, only in gaming, behind Fable • Full model weights are set to release July 27th Theo Jaffee: "Imagine if Anthropic were a public company today, their stock would be down 20%, maybe more, enterprises are probably not gonna be spending $10 and $50 on Fable when they can instead be spending $3 and $15 on Kimi K3."$
