Finally caught this low visibility, one-lane covered bridge during a complicated moment. How does FSD handle it? Like a legend. As we approach, FSD yields for the pedestrian and oncoming car. Before proceeding, FSD notices the approaching pickup truck, yields until it is apparent that the truck is going... to yield for us, at which point it proceeds through the bridge flawlessly. FSD V14.2 demonstrates awareness of one lane bridge, understands that approaching pickup is a potential obstruction, and waits until it is clear that we can proceed. You can completely forget about this happening on any version pre-14. V14 does an incredible job with context and predicting potential future events. This is what a very capable robotaxi looks like. First, FSD 14.3.2 notices the stopped bus blocking the lane, so it signals far in advance and moves over. FSD V14.1.7 | Near Accident This is without a doubt the closest I have come to getting into an accident in a long time. I think had I not taken over and slammed on the brakes we would not have slowed down in time. You can see that FSD does an incredible job reacting to the car (even before I noticed it) and was slowing down, but it was not slowing down enough to stop in time. As soon as I saw the car swerving to the right I worried she was going to bounce back into my lane so that is when I decided to go full on the brakes to stop the car. You can see prior to me taking over we were full regen braking (which is FSD reacting well) but it wasn't using any real brakes at all, and ABS was not active until I took over. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I still think FSD is incredible - the reality is if you watch the video the car saw and reacted to the situation before I did, it just didn't brake as agressively as it needed to in this situation. FSD + an attentive driver is without a doubt in my mind still safer than a normal human driver who is not using FSD.

I’ve been spending a lot of time with the Cybertruck over the last couple of weeks. I can confidently say this is the best Tesla ever made. FSD has a lot to do with it. It feels like an autonomous land yacht that can take on anything. The way this truck drives, soaks up bumps, offers tons of room for humans and cargo, and drives itself is hard to wrap my head around. I haven’t driven the truck manually for more than a mile since I’ve had it. A pickup truck that drives itself pretty much flawlessly should not exist so soon in my lifetime, but it does. Crazy.

This traffic circle has been a long-standing pain point for me on FSD. As you can see, the car consistently drives in the bike lane here. I’ve documented this behavior before on FSD 12, 13, and now 14. The issue appears to stem from outdated map data. This section of the circle used to function as a two-way roadway. At the time, there was no bike lane and vehicles traveled in the space FSD still prefers today. Since the redesign, that area is now a dedicated bike lane, but FSD doesn’t reliably recognize the change. Depending on the version, it will occasionally handle this correctly, but most of the time it does not. This is currently the only issue I consistently experience with FSD. It’s not safety critical. The car will move if a cyclist, vehicle, or object is present, but reliance on outdated map data in locations like this needs to improve.

Reasoning is what really changed the game with FSD V14, and as they implement more of it, it’s going to be game over. Here’s a great example. FSD exits the parking lot of this coffee shop. If you zoom into the nav at the top right corner, you can see that it’s telling me to turn left (illegal to do so here). This has been a map error at this shop for a while. On all previous FSD versions, I’d disengage here as FSD would try to make the illegal left. With V14.2 reasoning, the car gathers context, understands it isn’t supposed to turn left here/ignores nav and triggers the re-route.

In my experience, V14.3.3 is the worst parking version of FSD since parking was introduced to the stack (V14.1). In this clip, you can see that FSD has everything going for it. The new charging map is there, the open spot is as clear as day. As FSD begins its reverse, it straddles two spots, one of which is not a supercharging spot. It was gunning (very poorly) for the spot that wasn’t even a supercharger spot before I took over. I’ve been having it do stuff like this, attempt to back into spots with crossed lines that clearly aren’t parking spots, etc. don’t remember having this bad of an experience on any other 14 build

There’s a broken down pickup truck in the middle of the three open lanes in the Ville-Marie tunnel. Lights indicate that lane is closed. My car is in the leftmost lane, which suddenly also comes to a standstill, after police show up and an officer exits his vehicle and stops traffic. When it appears that the left lane will not start moving again, FSD moves my car two lanes over the right. 🤯 It then curves around a pothole in that lane, following how the car ahead handled it. 🤯 Honestly if it wasn’t for how bad Montreal roads are with potholes, I would hardly be driving myself at all.

Time for another one since people didn’t believe I got the EU virus cured. A unique setup: - driving monitoring that’s there (no covered camera and it doesn’t bother you at all) - all the EU features that we need are enabled (it does yield etc) - FSD V14 - disabled all EU and UN R171 mandated restrictions (doesn’t turn off in the rain, doesn’t want you to look at the road and regularly check surroundings and more) - you can see it’s max speed at all times (not like in the US) I honestly think this is one of the best configurations of FSD globally, it changed my mind about its potential and reminded how much it is going to be restricted by the EU mafia once it lands officially (in two weeks 🤣). Thankfully we can have it today already and tweak it later once the RDW saga is over. (DM me!) Join us for a 25 minute ride around Kraków, Poland. 5 PM Friday traffic and voice commentary starts in the middle as we enter the city. It didn’t get anything wrong, just one detour due to wrong map data - it recovered!

FSD has completely forgotten how to handle this green left turn arrow FSD fights back if you try to hold the accelerator and in 2 of the 3 attempts this causes the wheel to fly around so much I have to grab it This is a major issue that generally results in a critical disengagement (either getting completely stuck at the light or becoming stranded in the intersection if the car goes the wrong way - either way confusing human traffic). Rarely the car does somewhat respond to the accelerator and can be coaxed through. FSD has never had this level of difficulty going through this intersection from this direction through 14.2.2.5
