@aelluswamy FSD on the highway needs a lot of work. It’s not NEARLY cautious enough for the fact that it’s zipping around at 100km/h. Moving into the lane of a vehicle that’s nearly stopped while showing no signs of slowing down itself is such a bad move. Disappointed to see that.

@aelluswamy Yesterday, I experienced a similar disengagement. FSD didn’t slow down sufficiently in time for the car in front of me, despite having ample time to do so. I hope this issue has been resolved in their Robotaxi builds.

@aelluswamy Interesting. Reminded me a bit of 12.5.6 where the deceleration curve was not nearly aggressive enough.

After dropping off an Uber passenger who I took home from work tonight in a very rainy Houston, and on my way to pick up my next Uber passenger, Tesla FSD avoided an accident with a truck that wasn’t looking when it backed out into the road. V14.2.1 highway regression vs 14.1. In standard mode, FSD makes a maneuver into the left lane to pass a semi truck. Because they have jailed the speed limits of non mad max profiles, FSD cannot use acceleration to make this pass. So it ends up camping the left lane. In my right side view mirror, you can see someone coming up on my ass, and FSD is not getting back over. It’s also not speeding up to pass the semi because it is in speed jail. I had to scroll mad max to get through the maneuver. Def a regression from 14.1.

Tonight, I tested the latest Tesla FSD build v14.2.1.25 on my Cybertruck while turning into my neighborhood—and unfortunately, the persistent phantom emergency braking bug is still there. The vehicle suddenly slams on the brakes, detecting a nonexistent “ghost” obstacle in the road. (See video) This issue first appeared with FSD v14.1 and hasn’t been resolved yet. 📍 GPS location: 28.240491, -81.606942 My nearby friend with a 2025 Cybertruck experiences the exact same problem at the same location. Notably, it happens in both FSD mode and regular manual driving—but only started after the v14.1 update. First (potential) safety critical disengagement that I've had in quite a while on 13.2.9. Watch first and then read, curious if others would make the same mistake FSD did. I was supervising and didn't even realize the mistake that FSD made until it was too late. Fortunately nothing happened but this could have been really bad, and I blame whoever setup the cones more than I do FSD. I ended up disengaging at the very end just because I realized we were on the other side of the road with no way to get back to the proper side so I took over and sped up to get out of the lane of oncoming traffic. Shoutout to Matthew Raistrick for making it easy to get this clip in full quality.

FSD V14.2 Ambulance Fail As always I think it's healthy to show the good and the bad with FSD. Last night when I was out testing 14.2 I ran into an issue where an ambulance was coming from my right and FSD failed to notice it in time. I ended up having to disengage which marked my first and only (non-nav related) disengagement on V14.2. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Forget UPL, it's the Devin's simple right hand turn that FSD needs to master first. I am blown away that software as good as FSD can make mistakes as simple but devastating as this. This is the second time in less than two weeks that FSD has tried to pull infront of a vehicle on a VERY SIMPLE right hand turn. The car drove pretty much flawlessly all day today (3~ hours of driving) but it ends the day with a move like this and it just takes all the confidence I have with FSD away in a simple move. I understand that the version of FSD we have today is not what will be used in Austin in June, but the fact that FSD is making decisions like this and 'full autonomy' is less than 3 months away - it's a bit concerning to me. FSD keeps sending me into HOV lane even though I’m the only person in the car. Tesla please fix HOV auto detection because it doesn’t work. First clip shows FSD trying to cross double yellow into HOV lane this past Sunday. Second clip shows FSD going into HOV lane this morning during my commute. Both times took me by total surprise. 😱 This morning I thought I’d re-engage FSD and see if it would recognize the mistake driving in HOV lane and get me out of there, but it didn’t. I ended up having to disengage and cross double white to get my car out of HOV. I’m glad there wasn’t a cop there or else I would have gotten a ticket. This has been an ongoing issue with FSD for a while, even before the HOV auto detection feature came out and when I had “use HOV” set to NO. 👎

If a vehicle is following in the adjacent lane at a safe distance and consistent speed, the ego car will often activate the turn signal and begin crossing the lane line before suddenly aborting the maneuver, pausing briefly, and then either proceeding with the lane change or abandoning it entirely. This behavior appeared in v14.2.1 and unfortunately persists in v14.2.1.25. While it is not a safety issue per se, it is definitely one that needs to be addressed, as it causes confusion and frustration for all surrounding drivers on the road when it occurs. Here’s my first drive on Tesla FSD V14.2. For the first time on V14, I had zero hesitation or braking issues all day, and no interventions. From a driving perspective, and after 85 miles on and off-camera on V14.2 today, it now feels as comfortable, if not more so, than V13 did, but with all the capabilities of V14. What’s new in FSD V14.2: • Self-Driving stats section that tells you exactly how many Self-Driving miles you’ve driven and the percentage of FSD miles • You can now select speed profiles and parking preferences while in park • Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, leveraging higher resolution features to further improve scenarios like handling emergency vehicles, obstacles on the road, and human gestures • Big improvement (in my experience) to overall everyday driving comfortability • Slightly less strict attention monitoring at times In my opinion, V14.2 is good enough to be sent to every AI4 owner where FSD is legal, and for Tesla to encourage non-FSD owners/subscribers to try it. FSD did have a couple weird navigation decisions it made in my video, but that’s my only complaint. Overall, great version of FSD. 4K YouTube version of my video in thread below:

Here is the full FSD V13.2.1 “operation unstuck” mode test. Important feature for robotaxi operation. Bilal Sattar and I forced FSD into a deep narrow alley and then blocked its path with my model Y. Each test we went deeper into the alley to see if FSD would reverse out completely. 0:32 First success! 😍 1:10 Second success LFG! 🚀 2:08 Almost had it. Too close to curb at the end 4:12 Red hands takeover. Blinded by my headlights Tesla AI hope you find this helpful for next iteration. This is amazing for first feature rollout! Here are the results: - MadMax when to 79 (14 miles over) and stayed in passing lane - Hurry dropped down to 75 (10 miles over) - Standard dropped it further down to 69/70 (4/5miles over) - Chill dropped to 67 (2 miles over) - Sloth dropped to 63 (2 miles under) Verdict: I prefer Standard on freeways and MadMax in city.
