For these WebGPU demos to work on React Native, we had to apply two tiny patches to Three.js. Thanks to the great support from the Three.js WebGPU community, both changes have landed, which means that we'll be able to use a regular build from there. ❤️ open-source.

@threejs Some strange reason Canvas doesn't display after screen navigation in RN 0.74 once the new arch is enabled in IOs . Works fine with old architecture. This is driving me crazy . Not sure is it RN navigation or screens or Skia what is cusing this issue

🚀 I'm launching r3f-webgpu-perf today! "npm i r3f-webgpu-perf" One thing I missed while working with WebGPU in React Three Fiber was a performance monitor similar to r3f-perf. The existing tool is fantastic, but it doesn’t support the WebGPU renderer yet. So I decided to build one. ✅ Supports both WebGL and WebGPU ✅ Modern and customizable UI ✅ Lightweight and easy to integrate ✅ Built specifically for React Three Fiber My goal is to turn r3f-webgpu-perf into more than just a metrics dashboard. I want it to become a learning tool that provides real-time optimization suggestions based on the techniques I’ve developed while building hundreds of interactive 3D projects over the last two decades. A vanilla Three.js version is also planned. Alex Eala got emotional in press when asked about what it means to her to have the support of the Filipino community after her loss to Jovic at the U.S. Open “There were flags in Arthur Ashe from fans of the Philippines. We saw it throughout the tournament as well. What has that support meant to you, not only throughout this tournament, but this year as your star has grown, just from that community? Alex: “It’s indescribable to sum up the support and how it makes me feel in just a few words. It’s a real privilege to experience this in a lifetime. You know, like… Oh God, sorry. 🥹 Playing on Arthur Ashe, and feeling the support, being in those environments, learning these lessons, and fighting and doing what I love. I’m really happy. Draft render from last week, built with Three.js Shading Language and WebGPU, using hash noise and afterimage passes in Post Process. It's not making the final cut (too noisy for interactive use), but I liked the Ghibli-esque vibe enough to share it here.

I ran Opus 5 for two hours to recreate Sakura Crossing as an explorable Three.js version of San Francisco. I had Codex use the Claude Code CLI, so the two agents worked on the same build. The whole site is packaged as a single HTML file. Three.js site: Original repo:

I think it's really important for them to not seek validation from that. Which means you have to provide validation. Which means for us we have to be able to quantify/celebrate things." - "The starters will get theirs, it's the guys that are doing everything right below them... Are we appreciating/celebrating them enough."

Scottie Scheffler says he will be using the money paid to him by the Ryder Cup to put towards community work in his local area: “We have something planned for the money that we'll be receiving. I think it's a really cool thing that the PGA of America has empowered us to do. I have a deep passion for the city of Dallas, I have a deep passion for the organizations that we support at home, and I'm excited to be able to take this money and be able to do some good in our local community.” 👏 🇺🇸

Following ☄︎ work, I'm experimenting with some react three fiber with #threejs webGPU. We no longer need an EffectComposer to use post-processing effects in #r3f. Now, everything is done by composing TSL nodes. I created a small component that helps in rendering post-processing effects. All you need to do is import the effects you want and add them to the final composition. I will share the link to the demo and source code on Monday 😍. Another thing I want to highlight is how amazing the Screen Space Reflection effect is. It generates reflections not only on the ground, as we had before in r3f in webgl. It is able to calculate the reflections between the meshes. Look how beautiful the reflection of the lightsaber on Darth Vader's mask is. This is not something that is easy to calculate and this is exactly where WebGPU in threejs shines! Congratulations to everyone on the threejs team. I am increasingly impressed with WebGPU and TSL.
