I tap out, I'm switching my daily driver to Low in GPT-6 Astra. - Similar performance as GPT 5.6 Sol max - Lower cost than GPT 5.6 Sol max - Iterate faster than GPT 5.6 Sol max - low thinking produces result faster (don't need 2x speed anymore) Very underrated imo. You get to iterate faster, for cheaper, at similar performance of SOTA from a week ago. 00:00 Intelligence vs Cost graph 02:24 Astra Light vs GPT-5.6 Sol max 03:34 Faster iteration 05:07 Speed

This test shows clearly why GPT 5.6 Sol wins I asked the simplest prompt ever : > Create a gmail clone, the nearest possible to the real gmail ui You can see the result, GPT 5.6 Sol and Fable make a 100% perfect But here's the price difference: → GPT 5.6 Terra: $1.04 - 8 minutes → GPT 5.6 Luna: $0.44 - 10 minutes → GPT 5.6 Sol: $6.72 - 20 minutes → Claude Fable 5: $25.09 - 40 minutes Fable is 3.7x more expensive than Sol for "the same result"

📣 OpenAI Developers's GPT-5.6 family is now generally available and rolling out in GitHub Copilot. GPT-5.6 comes in three variants: ☀️ GPT-5.6 Sol: the highest reasoning ceiling in the family. Best for complex reasoning over large codebases and demanding, long-running agentic work. 🌎 GPT-5.6 Terra: the balanced default. A strong all-round choice for everyday interactive and agentic coding. 🌕 GPT-5.6 Luna: a lightweight, cost-efficient variant for smaller, faster tasks and the lowest-cost option in the family. Try one, two, or them all in Visual Studio Code or the GitHub Copilot app.

Kimi K3 beating Fable and Sol on price and quality. Command Code's internal flappy bench results are in. Really impressed with the results. For Kimi K3 we set the gameplay to hard while Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol were set to easier. Cost breakdown: • Kimi K3: $0.024 •Fable 5: $0.42 •GPT-5.6 Sol: $0.15 Ranking based on DX & features: •Kimi K3: 8/10 •Fable 5: 7.5/10 • GPT-5.6 Sol: 7/10 GPT 5.6 Sol max can definitely go on longer and wins the game overall, but that's something different. Grok 4.5 beats GPT 5.6 Sol on that, lol.Mm-hmm.

Nah, this can’t be real. Same GPT-5.6 Sol. Same task. Same thinking level. I switched from regular Codex to the Claude Code harness, and the result instantly became way better. Claude Code is somehow making every model cook. GPT-5.6 SOL WAS ALREADY TOP TIER!! 😭
