Here's Anthony Edwards when Jon Krawczynski asked about his final shot and if Finch told him he needed to pass it in that spot. "Me and my coach got the best relationship ever. I mean, he be right most of the time -- 98% of the time, he be right. He told me to pass the ball tonight, and I should have passed it, but I shot it instead. And it went in. The basketball gods was on my side tonight."

“Like I said, [Jaden] is my favorite player in the NBA… I love to watch him play. His maturity has grown so much over the last year, the way he sees the game, how he takes his time to get to his spots… He’s just my favorite player. I love Jaden McDaniels” - Anthony Edwards

Zendaya reveals how she freaked out when Tom Holland told her about starring in The Odyssey. "He had the script, and I may have taken a little peek. I had to know. He had a Christopher Nolan script in my house, what am I gonna do? So I looked" "Then he went off to his meeting, and when he came home, I was like, 'Okay! Tell me all about it! How was it? What was it like?' You know what I mean? I was so ready, so excited" "And he goes, 'Read this again.' And I was like, 'What? Why? We just read it last night.' He was like, 'Read it again, but with Athena in mind.' And I was like, 'Yo, stop it right there'" "I freaked out. I was so grateful. Mike Conley on if he was trying to start trouble at the end of the game passing it up to Jaden McDaniels “(Laughs) nah that was a slip up, that’s all on me I take the blame… as soon as I threw it I looked and I was like “ah it’s Jaden” I almost put my hands on my head and I was like “maybe he won’t” and then as soon as I saw him when the ball kind of bounced a couple times “it’s over man” you can even see me like lower my head”

Like, because I played against them in like practice a couple times, I was on like the penny group like the third group and I was like, we won a couple games like a little pick and roll games and he was like okay he is kind of good. Then I got to the second unit we won a couple games he was like, okay put him on the first unit let’s see what he does. I was so nervous playing with him the first time. Like I don’t know what to do. J.R. Smith says he got benched 9 seconds into guarding Kobe Bryant as an NBA rookie “Crazy because in shootaround, we going through walkthroughs, doing plays and shit. Bryon Scott is trying to explain the triangle and where Kobe going to be at and his moves and shit” “He was like, ‘He's going to go two dribbles right baseline. He gonna pump fake, stay down. He's going to pump fake again. Stay down.’ I'm like, ‘All right’” “We go through another play. He tell me, ‘He going to go two dribbles right, pump fake, stay down, pump fake, stay down, and then make him pass it out. Worst case, he'll take a tough shot over top of you. We can live with that.’ I’m like, ‘All right’” “We go over another play. I was like, ‘Yo, bro, if you tell me he about to go two dribbles right and pump fake and then pump fake... I got it. All right.’ ‘He do it and your ass go for it, I'm taking you out’” “I get in the game. I swear to God bro. I wasn't in the game nine seconds. When I tell you this man went two dribbles right. But the way he took his two dribbles, I'm thinking he going to the cup for sure” “This motherfucker pump fake. Jump. Boop. Swish. Beep. Sub. He took me right out”

Jeff Teague says he found $50,000 in a bag of college gear during a recruiting visit. He went home with $1,000 "And the coach was like, 'Yeah, I got some gear for you, but let me go out, I got to go real quick.' He leave the room. We looking through the gear… it's like $50,000." "I look at my coach like, man, my heart beating fast. I ain't never had no money. I'm like, 'Coach…' He really had no money either. He like, 'You coming here or what?' I'm like, 'I gotta ask my mom.' He like, 'No. This where you need to be.'" "So he looked at me and he was like, 'They ain't gonna tell on us, man.' I ain't gonna lie, he took about $10,000. I'm scared. I'm like, damn, what they gonna do, tell on us?" "He was like, "I'm gonna give you $1,000 when we get in the car." "And when I got older I started thinking about it like, this bum… Hey. You gave me $1,000. It was the whole other $49,000. I seen him the other day. I'm still mad at him about that."

Rob Gronkowski says Tom Brady told him he would never throw him the ball again after he ran the wrong route during practice his rookie year “I didn’t really like him my rookie year. He was just getting on my case nonstop, and it was kind of mind fucking me so much that I couldn’t be myself out there sometimes. I couldn’t run the right route because I was just thinking so much. There was just so much on the plate at first. I got a coach telling me to do this, I got Tom telling me to do this, and then finally, you just figure it out and it all clicks” “It took me about halfway through my rookie year, and then obviously, going into my second year, it clicked to a whole other level. We went for 21 touchdowns total, including the playoffs. But my rookie year, he was on my case. I remember I ran a flag route, and I ran inside the guy instead of getting outside of him. He flipped out on me in the meeting after practice and told me he’s never going to throw me the ball again” “I got butt hurt and Alge Crumpler saw it too. He just tapped on my thigh. He was like, ‘Yo, Gronk, don’t worry about that. Tom’s just being Tom. Keep doing you.’ Then it kind of put a fire under my ass. That’s what Tom was so great at doing. I didn’t really realize that’s what he was doing either. He was just trying to get the best out of you, and it lit a fire under my ass” “Then I just wanted to prove Tom wrong. Like, ‘All right, I’m going to run this flag route every time now, and you’re never going to throw me the ball, but I’m going to be open by five yards, and you’re going to look like the idiot now.’ That happened, and then he threw me the ball about 600 more times from there on out”

Julius Erving talking about playing with Charles Barkley: “I kept seeing his upside. He was hard-headed. He had something to say about everything. If he didn’t play as good as he can and well as he was capable of playing or whatever, then some of the things he did wouldn’t be tolerated. But they were tolerated because, you know, he was exceptional, man. He could rebound it, take it coast to coast, make play. And for his height to rebound the way that he did, it was incredible. It was kind of disruptive because we had won the championship the year before he got there. Then the year that he got there. We had to make room for him and he almost killed Marc Iavaroni cuz he was playing the four, Charles was like that’s my spot right there. This going back to violence in the game because the next man up. Me and you man. He get Iavaroni at his back. He back him all the way out to the top of the key” (Via All the Smoke)

Alice Schroeder on Warren Buffett during the dot-com bubble. "I asked him one time how he felt about this barrage of criticism that he was receiving in the press. This was the first time I got any kind of insight into the personality of Warren — what he was like — because up until then I had only known him as an investor and a businessman." Gary Payton says he taught Kobe his secrets because Kobe asked him to teach him, despite knowing he would use that information against him for the rest of his career “Kobe was already different. He was a different kid. I was about 10 or 11 years into the NBA at the time, and Kobe didn’t have a fear of asking anybody how to get better.” “He came by me and was like, ‘Big bro, you be doing this and that. I really want to learn this because of you.’ When he said that, that took something in my heart. A kid with his ability, knowing where he was going, really wanted to learn, and he didn’t have an ego.” “I didn’t mind. I didn’t care about him knowing how to do it and stop it because if he knows it, it makes me better too. Because I gave him the game, now I’ve got to learn how to stop him. I’ve got to show him something else.” “It didn’t really bother me, and me and him got so tight. Especially when I went to the Lakers and was mentoring him, we got really, really tight.”

Tom Holland shares how he got to tell Zendaya that Nolan wanted her as Athena in The Odyssey. Tom Holland: Then at my meeting with Chris, he asked me a question. He said, “Do you mind if I ask you a question and please don’t be offended by my asking?” And I thought he was going to ask me like, “Can we put like lifts in your shoes or something make you taller?” I didn’t know what he was going to say. And he went, “Would you be offended if I asked you if I asked to play Athena?” I was like, “Why would I be offended?” Tom Holland: And yeah, I just said, “Oh, mate, I would be honored. That’s amazing. I’m sure she would love to.” And then I asked him, I said, “Do you want me to tell her?” And he said, “Yeah.” And then I went home and she asked me about the meeting and I just said to her, I said, “You should read the script again.” And she was like, “Well, I read it.” I said, “No, no, no. Just trust me. Like, you should read it again.” And she was like, “What are you talking about?” I said, “Just read it again, but read Athena like really closely.” And the little corners of her mouth… Interviewer: YESS, IT’S MY FAVORITE. It was amazing.

Shaquille O'Neal recalls the exact moment he knew Kobe Bryant was the best player in the world: 'I got you big dog' “We're in the Finals in Indiana. I'm nervous — we got three and they tie this, we're going to be in trouble. Everybody's panicking on the bench and Kobe whispers, 'I got you big dog.'” “Five, six minutes later I'm on the bench like... I knew he was nice but I'm like, damn. He went crazy. And then I just look — I got the press card that says my guy is the best player in the world. Yes. No, he really is.” “His rookie year he used to be practicing moves without the ball at shoot around because he didn't start. He's shooting — don't forget his elbow — he was doing all that and people thought he was crazy. But first in the gym and last to leave? That was him.” “He really wanted to be the best.”

Damian Lillard says Russell Westbrook tried to score 50 on him every time they played “My first five, six years, he was the bully. It didn't matter if it was a big matchup, if somebody was hurt and he was playing against the backup, he didn't care. He tried to do it to everybody” “I just remember when I was a rookie, second year, it was like he used to try to give me 50 every time. He would be shooting on me so much that KD would be getting mad like, ‘Pass the ball.’ Like, he's shooting every time” “Once I realized that it was like that, that's when I started taking it personal. I know he always on go against everybody, but he really trying to come get me. That's when it became personal, I started going back” “Then I started having the ball more once we did our rebuild. And he noticed that I was having it more, so I was being more aggressive back at him. That's when it'll turn into talking. He'd be, ‘I've been busting your ass for years,’ and I'd be, ‘Yeah, well, it's a new time’” “So when we started having that conversation, it just turned into every game. It was automatic. I came to the arena knowing it's on tonight” “He just play like that. He a cool dude. Russ is cool off the court. We cool, but on the court, it was just like he took that approach, ‘Ain't nobody punking me. I don't care who you is’”
