The Tesla Model 3/Y produced in the 2017-2024 timeframe all have just an air conditioning vent in the back. But it would be great to turn it into a smart screen that can watch movies, play games and other controls.

Huawei is v11 maximum, others might be v10/11. We FSD veteran know that V11 was pretty capable, but the comfortness and confidence compared to v13 night and day. Completely different technology stack are required to achieve this.

I tried Huwei ADS myself, didn’t post, it’s similar to other autonomous driving systems but not in the same class as Tesla. It is a real thing though, I can’t predict how fast they will progress

ADS can only be activated in pre-mapped areas (not high-definition maps) and it’s still rule-based solution on BEV+transformer architecture. FSD is fundamentally better.

This Chinese tester puts 3 intelligent driving systems to the test in a construction zone: Huawei ADS, LI AD Max and Tesla FSD, all of which are installed with the currently available software versions in China. FSD is the only one that successfully navigates the zone without any issue. Both ADS and AD Max give up either because it can’t perceive the environment properly or lack of navigation map data. PC AUTO, a known Chinese auto publication, recently reviewed intelligent driving systems from eight major brands: Huawei, BYD, XPeng, Zeekr, LI, Xiaomi, NIO and Tesla. In 2 scenarios where a tree is in the way, FSD is the only system that successfully drove around to stay the course. Every other system failed to proceed. For context, FSD is the only system that doesn’t use lidars. Looks like vision-based approach is superior and can solve edge cases which lidars may not.
