I ported my Unity game to Unreal Engine!! UE 5.8 includes an MCP server. Decided to try to see how the same game would look within Unreal. Switched to Fable 5.1 (was running low on Astra usage) Asked it to port the Unity version using the same Blender assets. WDYT?

I think Unity is cooked. Unreal is better for AAA graphics Godot is better for indie There's no middle left

Personally prefer how it looks in Unity because of the colour palette. It pops more imo.

Thanks for that! I’m in two minds!

I think unity is punching up. Das gud 👌

You prefer Unity too?

Art and unity just looks cozier. Idk is how I put my finger on it. Unreal shaders are better but somehow unity still looks good.

Colors look delightful mate!

Cheers mate!

Good looking! Question on the unreal mcp server? is that really import everything in the UE editor or just backend with unity and render with UE? any docs

Everything imported into UE - nothing powered by Unity.

Awesome! unity for prototype

That's a nice resource! Personally I think Unreal's lighting is gorgeous but since it doesn't export to the web there's no point 🤷🏻♂️

Slap some dlss5 on it...it probably knows the ghibli tonemapping well

super cute and cool

Thank you!

In the video, it looks like only the resources and visuals were transferred, but were the game content and level design systems also duplicated?

they were ported to some extent

It would be interesting to see this in Godot as well

honestly switching models mid-project because of usage limits feels like it's becoming its own skill now, not just a fallback

Another builder in the graph. Keep shipping — compound interest is underrated. 👋

How much of the port preserved real scene structure and materials, versus having the MCP agent rebuild equivalent content from scratch?

Very cool style, liked the low poly, we are also cooking something if you want to take a look :

The port is the interesting part, not the engine. Two agents here read the same memory file, so when I move work between them the project context sits on disk, not in a chat session. Did the asset decisions carry over, or did you re-explain them?

lighting in UE wins, the grass looks way softer. how much of the port did fable get right first try?

how does the performance of Fable 5.1 compare to Astra for this port?
