GPT-5.6 vs GPT-5.5 on my custom spaceship prompt. I gave both models the exact same custom prompt. This is also the same prompt I previously gave to Fable 5. For context, GPT-5.6 Pro worked for 87 minutes, while GPT-5.5 Extra High worked for 34 minutes and 42 seconds. As I’ve said before, based on great authority GPT-5.6 will be an incremental/soldi improvement over GPT-5.5, not a “Fable killer.” My rough expectation has been that it would trade blows with Fable 5 on some benchmarks, maybe win around half depending on the category, but not clearly surpass it overall. And again fable five will have bigger model smell, but this was expected. After testing this coding output, that view feels pretty accurate. GPT-5.6 is clearly better than GPT-5.5 in several visual areas. The lighting, shading, chairs, object details, and exterior of the spaceship looked noticeably stronger. The scene was also easier to test. I do want to give GPT-5.5 credit though. It built out the rooms much much better and the planets looked better than GPT-5.6’s. It was also interesting that both GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.6 produced better-looking planets than Fable 5 in this specific test. The downside with GPT-5.5 was stability. The game was much glitchier and harder to test compared to GPT-5.6. But when it comes to the core of the demo, which is the spaceship itself, Fable 5 still beat both models pretty comfortably. GPT-5.6 is impressive, but from this test, it looks exactly like what I expected which was a meaningful incremental improvement over GPT-5.5, at least for indie game demos, but not something that replaces Fable 5. Opus 4.7 cs GPT 5.4 “make a flappy bird clone” I’ve been running this test for a few models now and this test was the hardest to objectively say who did better. Opus grabbed another version game assets compared to GPT 5.4, - GPT 5.4 however, grabbed the correct game assets. Opus 4.7 beat it on creativity where it grabbed assets (maybe unknowingly) that had a much more diverse set, including nighttime modes and different bird colors GPT 5.4 was able to get the pacing of the game the first shot, whereas Opus had the game running much too fast and then much too slow. But was able to place the metal perfectly in the game card at the end where GPT 5.4 struggled over 10 iterations. All in all both models had essentially made a near perfect game after three shots and are far ahead of the competition in terms of reasoning and effort.

We have now fully commissioned the machine after a few hiccups related to an old dying hard drive in the machine PC (it had a 1 gb hard drive!!) could save the machine in the nick of time with the help of a fellow machining junkie who knew how to do it! But the real reason i am writing is that we successfully ran our first 3D program on it and that the program was written entirely using Claude !! I did it myself and it took me a few hours to get it going. The best part of using Claude was that I could ask it to use macros to write the program which meant i could control *all* variables in the program. And it ran like a charm! Rendered on the part a fine finish and a brilliant high to see the part come out better than expected! I set the job myself because I wanted to get a feel for the machine, its ways and how to work with it. It had been nearly 15 years since I had set a job on the machine for a VMC, and it felt good to know the craft has not left my hands and getting them dirty while making parts still makes me happy! Samaachar samaapth :)

I had an early access to GPT-6 Astra and I can say, everyone in the world now has a 3D designer at their fingertips. I gave it an image of a house and asked to create it in 3D with all the details including toys, appliances and furniture. This a full 3D model reconstruction in Blender with geometry that you can manually tweak and run 60fps as a locally rendered "game" on device.

I honestly feel like I could go strike by strike, like an ambulance chaser. I could pull the flight data showing U.S. aircraft overhead at the time. I could show that the buildings were already distressed assets marked for demolition under urban redevelopment plans. I could show that nobody was living in them- and hadn’t been for several years. I could use Israeli government maps and planning records to point to the exact areas already slated for clearance. I could even pull the flight data from Operation Juniper Oak, where U.S. and Israeli forces ran coordinated drills, and lay it alongside this operation to show the same patterns, the same structure, and the same level of pre-planning. And even after laying all of that out, people still would not clue in. That is the fucking problem.

I literally just watched GPT-5.5 via codex beat an Amazon customer associate in real time. 💀 I asked it to get me a refund, and I watched it navigate the settings, cancel the subscription, then it went step further into the help page. I thought it was going to request a phone call (which would prompt me to take over) Instead, it opened: “Chat with an associate now.” That’s when I sat up on my couch because I knew it was going to get real The agent said: “Your subscription is active.” And GPT-5.5 immediately explained that it only shows as active because cancellation leaves access through the billing period, but that I wanted it stopped now and refunded. And my jaw just hung open, it was the first time I watched sand handle a customer service agent for me in real time Once the agent confirmed the refund, it just ended the chat no mercy no thank you LMAO First time I’ve watched a human customer service agent get outmaneuvered by AI in real time. And it made me 15$! almost paid for itself in 5 minutes

claude mythos just broke Apple's $2 billion defense system. it did so by discovering a completely different attack vector to break in only took it 5 days costing ~$35K of mythos api time (the same exploit class costs $5-10M on grey market) the researchers that commandeered the exploit produced a 55-page report that was delivered to Apple HQ in-person (hoping they release it after patching). most shocking part for me is apple's MIE worked as intended. mythos just discovered a new way to side-step it entirely by poisoning the data the M5 chip ingested. at this point i think we have to accept that mythos walks the walk. As the anthropic red-team explicitly confirmed this week - this is NOT a compute resource issue. its national defense.

Data and Airtime are not perishable goods, and that they expire when not used with a certain period of time contributes to the struggles of access to information for ordinary poor citizens! Shoprite does not fetch bread in my house if I don’t eat it within 2-days. I bought it, I own it and should use it as I see fit. The EFF says down with airtime and data expiration mandates!

Nobody seems to know how insane GPT-5.4 is with computer use. I asked GPT-5.4 to draw the OpenAI logo in Microsoft Paint. No computer use API. Just a screenshot and basic tool calls (click, drag, press_key) all coordinate-based. The first drawing was awful. And GPT knew it. It looked at its own result and essentially went "yeah, no." What happened next is what broke my brain: It opened a browser. Went to Bing Images. Searched for the OpenAI logo. Found one. Then (and I cannot stress this enough) it used the Windows area screenshot shortcut (Win+Shift+S) to snip just the logo off the screen. Went back to Paint. Imported it. Centered it. All on its own. No instructions to do any of that. It just improvised a better strategy when the first one failed. My prompt was "Draw the OpenAI logo" with Paint already opened on the computer. Sure, it's "cheating." But honestly? That's exactly what I'd do too. And the fact that it came up with this plan from nothing but a screenshot and a coordinate system is wild.
