How well do egocentric human videos scale? Apparently, really well. Dyna Robotics has introduced Dyna-2, a world-action model (WAM) pre-trained on more than 1 million hours of real egocentric human video. It learns by jointly predicting the next video frames and the actions, and that video prediction (world modeling) is what carries learning from humans to robots. • More human video predictably improves action prediction. • Task accuracy improves across embodiments (bimanual arms and a humanoid) with zero robot data in pre-training. • Post-trained on just a few hours of robot data, mean task performance rose 20% to 53% as human pre-training scaled 1k to 1M hours. We trained a humanoid with 22-DoF dexterous hands to assemble model cars, operate syringes, sort poker cards, fold/roll shirts, all learned primarily from 20,000+ hours of egocentric human video with no robot in the loop. Humans are the most scalable embodiment on the planet. We discovered a near-perfect log-linear scaling law (R² = 0.998) between human video volume and action prediction loss, and this loss directly predicts real-robot success rate. Humanoid robots will be the end game, because they are the practical form factor with minimal embodiment gap from humans. Call it the Bitter Lesson of robot hardware: the kinematic similarity lets us simply retarget human finger motion onto dexterous robot hand joints. No learned embeddings, no fancy transfer algorithms needed. Relative wrist motion + retargeted 22-DoF finger actions serve as a unified action space that carries through from pre-training to robot execution. Our recipe is called "EgoScale": - Pre-train GR00T N1.5 on 20K hours of human video, mid-train with only 4 hours (!) of robot play data with Sharpa hands. 54% gains over training from scratch across 5 highly dexterous tasks. - Most surprising result: a *single* teleop demo is sufficient to learn a never-before-seen task. A scaling law that transfers from human video to robot performance. Dyna-2 is out and it's 🔥 Here's what that means in plain terms. Dyna-2 was pre-trained on ONE MILLION hours of egocentric human video, 170 years of continuous human experience, cooking, folding, assembling, cleaning. And as that human data scaled, robot performance improved. Predictably. Monotonically. Across 39 tasks on two different robot embodiments the model had never seen. → 1,000 hours pre-training → 20% normalised task performance → 10,000 hours → 28% → 100,000 hours → 45% → 1,000,000 hours → 53% Human video exists at effectively unlimited scale. Exciting updates on Project GR00T! We discover a systematic way to scale up robot data, tackling the most painful pain point in robotics. The idea is simple: human collects demonstration on a real robot, and we multiply that data 1000x or more in simulation. Let’s break it down: 1. We use Apple Vision Pro (yes!!) to give the human operator first person control of the humanoid. Vision Pro parses human hand pose and retargets the motion to the robot hand, all in real time. From the human’s point of view, they are immersed in another body like the Avatar. Teleoperation is slow and time-consuming, but we can afford to collect a small amount of data. 2. We use RoboCasa, a generative simulation framework, to multiply the demonstration data by varying the visual appearance and layout of the environment. In Jensen’s keynote video below, the humanoid is now placing the cup in hundreds of kitchens with a huge diversity of textures, furniture, and object placement. We only have 1 physical kitchen at the GEAR Lab in NVIDIA HQ, but we can conjure up infinite ones in simulation. 3. Finally, we apply MimicGen, a technique to multiply the above data even more by varying the motion of the robot. MimicGen generates vast number of new action trajectories based on the original human data, and filters out failed ones (e.g. those that drop the cup) to form a much larger dataset. To sum up, given 1 human trajectory with Vision Pro -> RoboCasa produces N (varying visuals) -> MimicGen further augments to NxM (varying motions). This is the way to trade compute for expensive human data by GPU-accelerated simulation. A while ago, I mentioned that teleoperation is fundamentally not scalable, because we are always limited by 24 hrs/robot/day in the world of atoms. Our new GR00T synthetic data pipeline breaks this barrier in the world of bits. Scaling has been so much fun for LLMs, and it's finally our turn to have fun in robotics! Robotics is still bottlenecked by the 1× speed of the physical world. Every model, checkpoint, and data recipe eventually needs to be tested on physical hardware, slowly, expensively, and with limited coverage. One hour in reality can become 100 days in simulation. That is how robotics model iteration moves from a wall-clock bottleneck to a compute problem. To make this work, simulation has to be both fast and trustworthy. Over the past year, we rebuilt the entire stack: a GPU-accelerated cross-platform compiler, penetration-free multi-physics contact solvers, unified rigid and deformable physics, and a photo-realistic renderer purpose-built for physical AI applications. We built Nyx, a high-performance path-traced rendering engine for robotics application. Genesis World 1.0 achieves near realtime performance with our latest development for penetration-free IPC solver, supporting various types of deformables beyond rigid bodies. It supports contact-rich, dexterous manipulation simulation across different embodiments: unitree, sharpa, wuji, genesis hand and various types of grippers. Under the hood is Quadrants, our effort in pushing forward cross-platform GPU-accelerated computation. Over the past year, we rebuilt the entire stack: a GPU-accelerated cross-platform compiler, penetration-free multi-physics contact solvers, unified rigid and deformable physics, and a photo-realistic renderer purpose-built for physical AI applications. We built Nyx, a high-performance path-traced rendering engine for robotics application. Genesis World 1.0 achieves near realtime performance with our latest development for penetration-free IPC solver, supporting various types of deformables beyond rigid bodies. It supports contact-rich, dexterous manipulation simulation across different embodiments: unitree, sharpa, wuji, genesis hand and various types of grippers. Under the hood is Quadrants, our effort in pushing forward cross-platform GPU-accelerated computation. We believe we’re the first robotics company to demonstrate a robot peeling an apple with dual dexterous human-like hands. This breakthrough closes a key gap in robotics, achieving bimanual, contact-rich manipulation and moving far beyond the limits of simple grippers. 🧵↓ Today’s AI models (VLMs) are excellent at perception but struggle with action. New model: your robot can now pack your suitcase 🧳 Xiaomi has released a new robot foundation model. Called Xiaomi-Robotics-1, it is designed to have a robot pick things up and move them around. But first, DEFINITIONS: - Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT): An architecture where separate transformer "experts" (e.g., one for vision-language, one for actions) share a single attention stream, so each modality gets specialized parameters without losing joint reasoning. - Vision-language model (VLM): A model that jointly understands images and text. - Diffusion transformer: A transformer trained to turn noise into structured outputs by iterative denoising, here generating robot actions rather than images. - Action chunks: Short sequences of future actions (e.g., the next ~50 motor commands) predicted in one shot instead of one step at a time. - Flow matching: A faster version of diffusion. The model learns a straight-line velocity field from noise to the target action, so it needs only a few integration steps instead of many denoising ones. Its peculiarity comes from its two stage training: 1. 100,000 hours of video shot through a UMI rig: a handheld 3D-printed gripper with a camera, worn by humans doing ordinary tasks in homes, shops, factories and offices. 2. Therefore the headline "out-of-the-box success climbing 26% → 75% as pre-training data grows" tops out at 100% of 20k hours! What the full corpus does to that curve is never shown -> and this where things would become interesting! Xiaomi's own conclusion is that model size has stopped mattering and data is the binding constraint. The performance gap among different model sizes are less pronounced than those observed across different data scales. This result suggests that model capacity at the billions-parameter scale may already be sufficient to capture the current dataset's distribution. Which further asks the same question: why not use the 100k video hours? Anyway, I would definitely love to have a couple robots at home that can cooperate to pack my suitcase with items relevant to my next destination:

This is how ALOHA's "teleoperation" system works - a fancy word for "remote control". Training robots will be more and more like playing games in the physical world. A human operates a "joystick++" to perform tasks and collect data, or intervene if there's any safety concern. There's actually a learning curve to master the controller, much like practicing gaming skills. Teleoperation can be done in many different ways. ALOHA is an impressive custom-built system with very low cost. Here're a few alternatives: (1) Motion Capture (MoCap): apply the MoCap systems used for Hollywood movies to capture the fine-grained motions of hand joints. There would be no "embodiment gap" if the robot hand has 5 fingers. For instance, a demonstrator can wear a CyberGlove ( and manipulate the objects. CyberGlove will capture the motion signals & haptic feedback in real-time, which can be re-targeted onto the humanoid. (2) Wearing gloves & markers can be clumsy. An alternative way to do MoCap is through computer vision. DexPilot from NVIDIA enables marker-less and glove-free data collection. The human operator simply uses their bare hands to perform the tasks. 4 Intel RealSense depth cameras and 2 NVIDIA Titan XP GPUs (yeah, 2019 work) translate the pixels to precise motion signals for robot learning.
