After CPD arrest a man for suspicion of stealing a car, the parent screams and calls CPD "slave catchers." CPD as "slave catchers" originated with progressive activists and lawmakers. This is an utterly false and harmful characterization of CPD. Until lawmakers affirm CPD legitimacy in the public square, and demand residents obey lawful commands from Police, CPD will continue to face the sort of hostility seen here.
