@Replit This is super cool. Genuine question: other than the option to walk away without paying, what makes this different than someone getting themselves a Replit account, writing a prompt, and having Replit build the app they need?

Such a good question. It seems to be the case that a lot of people know very well that they could do it themselves, but choose not to. I'd say approx. 50% of meetings I have with potential clients, I ask "why don't you just built it yourself?" and the most common answer I get is that they don't have the time and would rather pay someone else to do it. They're more than happy to share context and feedback, but they can't be bothered with building the thing. This autonomous-agency-model is basically a self-serve model where clients only have to share context on what they want built and then give feedback once it has been built. A good way of framing this is asking the question: "Why doesn't everyone just bake their own bread, instead of buying it?"

I've been running my agency for a bit over a year and all of our clients (except 1) want us to host/maintain for them. Our clients are mainly non-technical people that want to outsource everything related to building, hosting and maintaining their app. So we start from the assumption that clients don't want to receive their apps, but we can do it if they want to 🤝
