It’s almost impossible to completely isolate the players from the stage. If I know a crucial play that requires crowd silence is about to happen, I will usually toggle xray so players don't get tipped off from any extra noise.

Definitely better than just using in ears + white noise for sure but the cost difference isn’t worth it for most TOs (minus valve who have unlimited money)

@Frikami23 Cost difference can’t be that much, they were using these in 2013 for cod events in Europe (white noise booths) although I’m sure it’s harder for crowd to spoil for a quicker paced cod game

@Y2_R6 @Frikami23 that was the reason last I heard I know some TO's dont use booths because it doesn't feel like youre playing in front of an audience anymore

BLAST does this as well They have a separate observer that goes out to the crowd and will disable xray on that obs if the crowd is trying to cheat — I’m definitely not the first to do this

I only mentioned cs due to the heavy crowd usage during the recent fissure playground lan that was between falcons and furia

more events do need to use this, agreed but I only know of BLAST doing it so fair you say that LAN didn't

The International comes closest I think, sound proof booths, only indication they can get from the crowd would be if the crowd physically moves but that would require them to keep their eyes off the screen
