1 you can now parse multiple PRDs without losing previous tasks, introducing batch adding new tasks and prd-by-prd task management just use parse-prd with the --append flag ✅ add tasks by milestone, by feature, by version do it however you structure your product approach

Eyal Toledano profil fotoğrafı
Eyal Toledano1 yıl önce

2 next, we added chain-of-thought to PRD parsing 🧠 tasks generated from your PRDs should now be even clearer, better structured and closer to your PRD details still recommend upping task # if prd is complex this is an experimental prompt so share feedback if you notice smth

3 improves MCP onboarding and solve an issue that required some folks to install the npm package globally for mcp to work now it'll work with just: npx -y task-master-ai in your MCP config (don't forget your API keys). clean. btw you'll still need .env if using CLI commands

Eyal Toledano profil fotoğrafı
Eyal Toledano1 yıl önce

4 cleaner init: `task-master init` no longer pollutes your codebase with unnecessary files and dependencies in your package.json. we don't touch em anymore. now init ships with: - @cursor_ai + @windsurf_ai rules - mcp.json - scripts/example_prd.tx - gitignore adds - readme

5 small but mighty fixes: - multi-task removals now supported (remove-task) with comma-separated --id=1,2,3 - improved MCP calls to update, update-task, & update-subtask - better env support for clients like @windsurf_ai @AnthropicAI - shebang fix for linux/WSL environments 🛠️

@TaskmasterAI @github Just looked at the MCP install. I have Perplexity Pro and was a big fan of it, but my last prompts to Gemini Pro 2.5 returned so much better results, can I just swap them? Also, do I have to have direct API access to the model provider or can @OpenRouterAI be used as well ?

@TaskmasterAI @github Is there a way to just use the models being used by the IDE (Cursor, Windsurf, etc) to do the tasks where Claude or Perplexity are needed? Since we are already paying for that, why not also let the Developers decide if they want to leverage the IDE agentic capabilities of BYOK?

@TaskmasterAI @github Awesome! How do I configure it to work with a remote session?

Eyal Toledano profil fotoğrafı
Eyal Toledano1 yıl önce

@TaskmasterAI @github It depends on the MCP client based on my experience session.roots has different values depending on the MCP client 😂 should be looking for the files in the project root, but that too will depend on how the config of the mcp client works. roots are annoying

Duncan Trevithick profil fotoğrafı
Duncan Trevithick1 yıl önce

Thanks. I'm trying to use it in Cursor. Do you know how I can set the session.roots? I just get 'It seems the initialization failed with an ENOENT: no such file or directory error when trying to change directory. This might indicate an issue with the path provided or permissions.'

Eyal Toledano profil fotoğrafı
Eyal Toledano1 yıl önce

@TaskmasterAI @github hit me in dm’s or on discord, better for support you SHOULD be able to pass a projectRoot argument to init and parse prd but not 100% sure What does the mcp json look like?

Duncan Trevithick profil fotoğrafı
Duncan Trevithick1 yıl önce

@TaskmasterAI @github Ok cool. So change the args to ["-y", "task-master-ai", "projectRoot", "user@host:/path"] ?

Eyal Toledano profil fotoğrafı
Eyal Toledano1 yıl önce

@TaskmasterAI @github No leave the mcp.json as is When running the initialize mcp tool, ask the agent to throw in the current projectRoot as an arg for the tool itself the value of that arg is prioritized over the session roots stuff, which should work provided the LLM throws in the current root

Duncan Trevithick profil fotoğrafı
Duncan Trevithick1 yıl önce

@TaskmasterAI @github Ok cool. It seems that it already had that context but it's not able to access it. I'm guessing because the mcp server is running on my machine and not the remote one, so it tries to use the path locally which of course doesn't exist.

Yes I understand that and i have seen your progress here : . But at least put out a semver patch with openrouter or requesty working API and then improve from there. I have sat on your tool for the last 3 weeks due to this your limitation. Great work and attention to detail by the way. I like what you did there with the terminal visual architecture and aesthetics. Kudos!

Eyal Toledano profil fotoğrafı
Eyal Toledano1 yıl önce

i get where you’re coming from but a “patch” for one provider is a patch for all providers. i’m not going to monkey-patch providers one on top of the other and make the env a living hell to deal with i’m adjusting so we can do them properly otherwise i’ll have to come back to this again, which means slowing down other initiatives in the future doesn’t have to be perfect, but it has to work well enough so I don’t have to come back to it every release it’s 80% there. wont be long

CryptoSageOG profil fotoğrafı

Understood and it makes sense; for modularity and future-proofing sake its cool, but your audience awaits to launch you to the stratosphere... and the vultures wait also... let them not catch a wif. But then again imitation is validity. Your tool is a very strong candidate for inclusion in my long list of tools. So if I may ask how long was your 80% so i might be able to estimate the 20% time left ?

I built a mobile app to check Paddle revenue (because they don't have one): 👉 - Use your Paddle API key (read-only and scoped) - Live data with beautiful and useful graphs built with native Swift UI. - Multi-account supported, unified revenue metrics. - Data stay on device, no server (api requests are sent directly from your phone) - Home widgets - I made it free to download on App Store (once it's approved) - Buy the source code for $19 and customize it however you want (save 5hrs of prompting if you try to do it yourself). Some interesting facts about this side project: - I vibe coded with 100% claude code remotely on my Mac Mini (with my AI assistant setup) in less than 24 hours. - I have read 0 line of code in this project and never opened Xcode myself. - My AI assistant designed the app with GPT Image 2, built the app with Swift UI, test it on simulator (via screenshots), send the test build to TestFlight for me to test, and invited me to the app store connect account so I can test on my phone, then the AI submitted the app to App Store and currently waiting for approval. - For the website, I ask it to come up with a domain name, I bought it via manually and give it access via Cloudflare API, the AI design and create a static website with GitHub, test it with lighthouse CLI, deploy via GitHub pages, config the domain DNS, deploy the website. - Then I sign up an account with Polar payment, create an API key and ask the AI to setup a store, add payment, link with the account, and add the payment to the website. The entire process happened in the last 24 hours with me only talking to the AI via Telegram. This is such a fun side project not only to create an app that I wish exists, but also to push the limit of what I can use AI for, and so far I'm very impressed. I'll create so much more apps! It feels like I have unlocked a super power.

Google open-sourced MCP Toolbox for Databases. I gave it access to everything else. For context, Google's MCP Toolbox for Databases is an open-source server that lets AI agents securely query structured databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL through the MCP protocol However, most enterprise knowledge doesn't actually live in databases. It's scattered across emails, Slack threads, GitHub repos, Salesforce records, customer reviews, and internal docs. So Agents can't see any of it, which means they're working with a fraction of the context they need. I fixed that using MindsDB. It acts as a universal SQL layer that sits on top of all your data sources: structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. This means you can query Salesforce, Gmail, GitHub, S3 files, Jira, and 200+ more sources using SQL syntax. The clever part is how it connects to the MCP Toolbox. MindsDB exposes everything through MySQL, so from the Agent's perspective, it's just running SQL and getting context back. It doesn't know or care that the data came from five different sources behind the scenes. This setup unlocks some powerful capabilities: → One SQL interface for dozens of enterprise sources → Cross-datasource joins (combine GitHub and CRM data in a single query) → Built-in ML capabilities for working with unstructured data → Simple MCP tools that now have massively expanded reach In the video below, the Agent queries GitHub data and a customer review database in one SQL query. So what used to require ETL pipelines and weeks of engineering effort now happens instantly. At the end of the day, AI agents are only as useful as the data they can access. This gives them a lot more to work with. I have shared the GitHub repo in the replies, where you can find more details about this.

If your MCP server has dozens of tools, it’s probably built wrong. You need tools that are specific and clear for each use case—but you also can’t have too many. This creates an almost impossible tradeoff that most companies don’t know how to solve. That’s why I interviewed my friend Alex Rattray (Alex Rattray), the founder and CEO of Stainless. Stainless builds APIs, SDKs, and MCP servers for companies like OpenAI and Anthropic. Alex has spent years mastering how to make software talk to software, and he came on the show to share what he knows. I had him on Every 📧’s AI & I to talk about MCP and the future of the AI-native internet. We get into: • Design MCP servers to be lean and precise. Alex’s best practices for building reliable MCP servers start with keeping the toolset small, giving each tool a precise name and description, and minimizing the inputs and outputs the model has to handle. At Stainless, they also often add a JSON filter on top to strip out unnecessary data. • Make complex APIs manageable with dynamic mode. To solve the problem of how an AI figures out which tool to use in larger APIs, Stainless switches to “dynamic mode,” where the model gets only three tools: List the endpoints, pick one and learn about it, and then execute it. • MCP servers as business copilots. At Stainless, Alex uses MCP servers to connect tools like Notion and HubSpot, so he can ask questions like, “Which customers signed up last week?” The system queries multiple databases and returns a summary that would’ve otherwise taken multiple logins and searches. • Create a “brain” for your company with Claude Code. Alex built a shared company brain at Stainless by keeping Claude Code running on his system and asking it to save useful inputs—like customer feedback and SQL queries—into GitHub. Over time, this creates a curated archive his team can query easily. • The future of MCP is code execution. Instead of giving models hundreds of tools, Alex believes the most powerful setup will be a simple code execution tool and a doc search tool. The AI writes code against an API’s SDK, runs it on a server, and checks the docs when it gets stuck. This is a must-watch for anyone who wants to understand MCP—and learn how to use them as a competitive edge. Watch below! Timestamps: Introduction: 00:01:14 Why Alex likes running barefoot: 00:02:54 APIs and MCP, the connectors of the new internet: 00:05:09 Why MCP servers are hard to get right: 00:10:53 Design principles for reliable MCP servers: 00:20:07 Scaling MCP servers for large APIs: 00:23:50 Using MCP for business ops at Stainless: 00:25:14 Building a company brain with Claude Code: 00:28:12 Where MCP goes from here: 00:33:59 Alex’s take on the security model for MCP: 00:41:10

Send this to ANYONE on your team using AI agents with Claude/Codex skills: If I were you, I'd put your BEST AI skills in a GitHub repo, turn that repo into a PLUGIN, and have your team INSTALL it in Claude/Codex with auto update on. Why? 1. Everyone gets the same AI SOPs instead of 10 versions floating around Slack 2. When one person improves a skill, the whole team gets the better version. 3. New hires can start with your best workflows instead of a blank AI setup (this is a BIG deal). 4. If someone breaks a skill, you can roll it back with version control. 5. Personal skills can stay personal, while team skills become shared company infrastructure (and an asset!). 6. Your best AI processes stay with the company when someone leaves. 7. You can chain skills together for bigger workflows, like titles -> thumbnails -> descriptions -> YouTube publish. 8. You can track which skills are actually being used and delete the ones collecting dust. 9. You get less slop because the agent has real instructions, examples, taste, and process. 10. Your team moves from single-player AI to multiplayer AI. (thanks to AI with Remy | Learn AI for coming onto The Startup Ideas Podcast (SIP) 🧃) Watch full breakdown here (clearly explained): I don't know why I didn't do this before. The more I think about it, the more obvious it feels: your AI workflows should be version controlled company assets. It kinda feels like the difference between “we use AI” and “we actually operate with AI". Enjoy.
