kids should definitely lift weight, but the gains in prepubescent athletes come from coordination improvement, not the same response as post pubescent athletes

Lifting weights is different to holding a kid down on the leg extension, training to pos & neg failure. Most sports are well aware of the downside of training overload on young bodies. What the video avoids is that the reaction usually comes in the mid to late teens.
