It is more accurate to state that LDLs may kill. LDL particles above certain concentrations may be atherogenic. But most LDLs are cleared by the liver (reverse cholesterol transport) and are thus not atherogenic or killers.

All the studies are weak associative garbage based on food surveys from one population of people who do the worst diet in the world. The average person eats hundreds and hundreds of grams of sugar. This is not science, These studies are worthless. LDL is not a problem.
