Why LDL Cholesterol Alone Misleads Heart Disease Risk LDL cholesterol numbers don’t tell the full story of heart disease risk. Small, dense LDL particles are more dangerous, and many patients on statins still develop heart disease despite lower LDL levels. This video explains how saturated fats and seed oils...

GOVERNMENT BURIED THE TRUTH: SATURATED FAT DOESN'T KILL "The government actually funded massive trials that proved saturated fats & cholesterol DON'T cause heart disease—but they BURIED the results!" ~Nina Teicholz, PhD The Minnesota Coronary Experiment proved that lowering cholesterol RAISED death in men. For every 30 mg/dL drop in cholesterol, all-cause mortality risk increased by 22%. Sydney Diet Heart Study showed replacing saturated fats with vegetable oils increased death from heart disease by 62% & all-cause mortality by 70%. Unpublished raw data revealed the dangers of seed oils. Kailuan Study Low LDL & Stroke Risk revealed LDL <70 mg/dL linked to 2.69X higher risk of hemorrhagic stroke. High LDL & Longevity (Systematic Review, 19 studies, 6.3M+ participants) proved High LDL-C associated with greater longevity. Inverse relationship with mortality in elderly; no link to reduced lifespan. Contradicts statin-driven myths. Saturated fats & cholesterol are essential for health: - Absorb vitamins A, D, E, K - Support digestion & bile acids - Boost immunity against infections, bacteria, viruses - Lower cancer, depression, suicide risks - Optimal for brain (60% fat, 30% cholesterol) - Prevent osteoporosis, stroke, dementia - Protect against toxins & all-cause mortality Avoid seed oils like soybean, corn, canola—they cause oxidation & inflammation. Embrace heart-healthy fats: butter, ghee, tallow, lard, duck fat, & extra virgin 100% coconut, avocado & olive oil.

New episode of HARD DRUGS! Should everyone be taking statins? Statins have revolutionised heart disease and they're one of many reasons for the long-term decline in cardiovascular mortality. Clinical trials suggest that the more you reduce LDL cholesterol levels, the more you reduce the risks of heart attacks and strokes, with no signal of harms even at the lowest levels. So scientists recommend the earlier they're taken the better, and the lower LDL levels you reach the better. Statins do have some rare side effects – such as muscle weakness and muscle loss in rare cases – but meta-analyses of RCTs find that most other side effects listed on statins' labels do not actually have higher risks than placebo. In this episode, Jacob Trefethen and I chat about all this and much more! - Why it took almost a century for scientists to come to consensus on "the lipid hypothesis": that higher levels of plasma LDL cholesterol causes higher risks of heart disease and that reducing it saves lives. - Drugs that effectively reduce cholesterol levels beyond the effect of statins, such as PCSK9 inhibitors, most of which are monoclonal antibodies, as well as newer siRNA drugs and the macrocyclic peptide enlicitide, which recently completed phase 3 trials, and Lp(a) drugs. - What the future holds for cholesterol drugs Timestamps: 0:00:00 Introduction 13:35 The decline in heart disease mortality 31:02 Surprising cholesterol trivia 55:40 The lipid hypothesis: 7 lines of evidence for the harms of LDL cholesterol 1:22:15 How cholesterol works 1:30:40 The discovery of statins 1:48:44 Should everyone be on statins? 1:57:10 PCSK9 drugs and beyond 2:22:56 Summary: how we got here and the future of cholesterol drugs Watch, listen, or read wherever you get your podcasts. "The Standard Of Care In Prescribing Statins Is Killing People." Gary Brecka "Cholesterol Does Not Cause Atherosclerotic Plaque Or Narrowing Of The Arteries." "There's No Correlation Between Elevated LDL & Cardiovascular Disease." "People Living To 100 Have High Cholesterol." Atherosclerosis is an inflammatory disease, not a cholesterol disease & never a statin deficiency. LDL is a transport molecule delivering cholesterol to repair the cell membrane of the arterial wall that has been damaged by lifestyle & environmental factors. LDL is preventive of disease & immune system protective. LDL Low Density Lipoprotein is responsible for these key functions: 🛞 LDL delivers fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E & K for critical functions. 🛞 LDL maintains cell membrane structure & keeps electron flow stable. 🛞 It transports antioxidants like vitamin E to fight oxidative stress. 🛞 It provides the raw material for making all steroid hormones. 🛞 It delivers energy-rich triglycerides to keep metabolism flexible. 🛞 LDL neutralizes bacterial toxins & supports innate immunity. 🛞 It builds lipid rafts that organize cell signaling & redox balance. 🛞 It helps structure water around membranes to maintain charge. 🛞 LDL supplies cholesterol to repair damaged tissues & membranes. The root causes of atherosclerosis, hardening of the arteries, calcification & plaque is not cholesterol...but a combination of these factors: Industrial Seed Oils Processed Sugar Excess Carbohydrates Insulin Resistance Ultra Processed Foods Smoking Obesity Environmental Toxins Poor Sleep Excess Calcium From Supplements Low Vitamin D Levels Magnesium Deficiency K2 Deficiency Lack of Exercise Stress Heavy Metals Most chronic disease happens within us, not to us, almost all atherosclerosis causal factors are modifiable by lifestyle changes. A low carbohydrate diet prioritizing nutrient dense animal foods, eliminating harmful seed oils & sugar, provides the best healthy cholesterol profile. This approach keeps Triglycerides low & HDL high, which is one of the best biomarkers for heart health. Optimal TG/HDL ratio is 1.5 or less. 👇The Higher Your LDL, The Longer You Live👇 👇LDL Paradox: Higher LDL, Greater Longevity👇 👇LDL Does Not Cause Cardiovascular Disease👇 Speakers: Gary Brecka & Patrick Bet-David Podcast: PBD Podcast
