GE90 thrust reverser ops test from the side and rear. You can see the blocker doors swinging into place. That big fan sleeve slides aft, cascades open up, and those blocker doors fold in to shut off the normal bypass path. Fan air gets forced forward through the cascades instead of going straight out the back. Core still pushes aft like normal.

A China Eastern pilot used the A350's thrust reverser to reverse the aircraft on the bay as it hit the jet bridge. Using the thrust reverser of an A350 to reverse the aircraft would be the first time I have seen this. 2 May 2026, Shanghai Airport. Why did he use the thrust reverser twice? Why not just set the brake after the first time?

One of the notable features of the Lockheed Martin KC-130J Super Hercules is its ability to use reverse thrust, thanks to its turboprop engines. Caught this “QB” Marine Aerial Refueler here in Nairobi performing a power-back maneuver. The pilots are taking it nice and easy. One important “don’t” during a power-back is never use the brakes to stop the aircraft — doing so can risk tipping the aircraft onto its tail. Instead, the pilots smoothly transition back to forward thrust and carefully bring the aircraft to a stop, then taxi normally.

No, this video is not in reverse. An officer from the Caledon OPP Traffic Enforcement Uniit stopped this vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign while cruising in reverse. Although the driver did technically stop, it was in the middle of an intersection, which is not the appropriate place to stop. The driver was charged accordingly. Caledon OPP would like to remind motorists that posted stop signs apply to both vehicles traveling in forward and reverse. Vehicles are required to stop at the marked stop line, and if one does not exist, then the nearest crosswalk or before entering the intersection. #CaledonOPP Town of Caledon #DriveSafe #DriveLegal ^rb

This may be the longest reverse I have seen Tesla FSD do for me. I was dropping a passenger off at a "local motel", all the way in the back where there is a big fence separating the motel from an industrial junkyard and no easy way to get back out. Tesla FSD v14.2.2 did an amazingly long reverse, all the way through the front gate and then turn around to get on our way to the next passenger. Every day there seems to be something new from Tesla FSD that I see while doing Uber in Houston that just amazes me.

Watch the thrust levers on a 787 just… move by themselves. That’s the Thrust Management Function doing an autothrottle servo test on the ground. Two independent servo motors under the quadrant are driving the levers so we can confirm the loop is healthy before the airplane goes anywhere. Boeing still moves the actual levers. When A/T is working in flight you see them creep forward or back as the system holds speed or sets thrust. Airbus does it the other way. Levers sit in a detent and the computers talk straight to the engines. Both philosophies work. One gives you a moving picture of what thrust is doing. The other keeps the hardware still.

Pin out, headset off, engineer climbs the nose gear into the avionics bay and up through the floor. That’s how you get onboard when there’s no local maintenance and the doors are already closed. That’s the travelling maintenance engineer the airline put on the flight because the destination has no provider they want to use. Doors shut, no stairs, only way left is the E&E bay and the hatch in the cabin floor. It is an old procedure. It is still used. It is not the everyday method at a major hub with jetways and contract engineers. It is the method when the network is thin and the airline wants the jet to leave on time with its own licensed person already inside.
