Alberta separation will never happen . Just look at Québec. Edmonon and Calgary will not go for separation as Montréal didn’t. Yes some smaller rural areas might, but not multicultural, diverse and varied big cities.

Separatist movement seems to be booming after court blocked Stay Free Alberta petition: Sydney Fizzard 🍁 A rally for Alberta independence in Airdrie had no shortage of encouragement from passersby on the highway, as it appears an Ottawa-appointed judge blocking the Stay Free Alberta petition has strengthened support for the movement. Alberta's growing separatist movement is gaining momentum following a controversial court ruling that temporarily blocked a citizen-led referendum on independence. In Airdrie, supporters of the sovereignty movement voiced their frustration with Ottawa, skepticism toward federal institutions and anger over what they describe as decades of Western alienation. The recent court decision that found the Stay Free Alberta petition was unconstitutional, citing a lack of sufficient consultation with First Nations groups regarding potential impacts on treaty rights. But that ruling has become a flashpoint of supporters of independence, many of whom believe the courts are obstructing Albertans from democratically expressing their views on separation. In their eyes, Western Canada is being economically exploited by Central Canada while lacking meaningful political representation, a feat obviously observed when the federal Liberals are governing in Ottawa. Throughout our report, those we heard from expressed frustration that the federal elections are largely determined outside of Alberta and regardless of how Western Canadians vote. Perhaps more damning of Mark Carney's Liberal reign is the parliamentary majority he acquired through spineless floor-crossing from MPs who betrayed their own voters to lock in personal riches. Unlike protests in the past, one particular thing stood out as new: the non-stop honking from those driving past on the highway. There's a lot of debate in the media over how popular separatist sentiments are in Alberta, but for well over an hour during the demonstration, you'd be hard pressed to go a minute without hearing someone honking in support.

Is Alberta finally separating? Lawyer sparks 51st state talks through referendum Alberta is a Canadian province which might be on the verge of separation, and with good reason. After generations of neglect and abuse by the federal government in Ottawa, many in the province have had enough and are strongly considering a move towards provincial independence. Recently, Rebel News conducted a poll, showing that if given the option to separate from Canada and join the United States, 10% of the province would agree, and if the Liberals win the next election, this jumps to 15%. While this was a poll on separating and joining the U.S., today the talk focuses simply on Alberta separating from Canada. This feeling has escalated drastically in the past few months as the Liberal Party has not only provoked a trade war with the world’s biggest superpower and our closest ally, the United States, but also allowed for expat globalist Mark Carney to replace Trudeau as prime minister. All of this without a general election, without a mandate from Canadians, or even a seat in the House of Commons. Even though an election was called days ago, many Albertans say the damage has already been done. For separatists, two outcomes have risen to the forefront: either the federal party that wins will adhere to provincial demands laid out by Premier Smith and Alberta retains its confederation status, or a "referendum for independence" will be held soon, which could solidify plans for the province to separate from Canada once and for all. Rebel News interviewed Alberta lawyer and separation advocate Jeffrey Rath during his press conference on March 26, to see what the independence movement is planning and how likely separation truly is. For now, Alberta remains a Canadian province. But that may change once the federal election is over. Either the new PM adheres to the requests laid out by the premier, giving Albertans more justification to remain Canadian, or the feds will continue their economic enslavement of Western Canada, and separation will shake the North American continent to its foundation.

Could Alberta actually leave? Keith Wilson joins Glenn Beck Americans with an interest in their northern neighbours are curiously looking on, wondering about the possibility of Alberta breaking away from the rest of Canada to create a new province. Glenn Beck raised the subject with Keith Wilson during the prominent Alberta independence activist and constitutional lawyer's appearance on Blaze Media's The Glenn Beck Program. “Is there enough support in Alberta to actually get that done,” Beck asked, in addition to whether Wilson actually thought “Canada would allow” the province, “the Texas of Canada,” to leave Confederation. Wilson pointed to the unique legal framework in Canada, which allows a province the ability to exit through a referendum. “If a clear majority of voters within a province vote on a clear question for independence, that triggers two routes to independence,” the constitutional law expert said. “One is the parties have to enter into good faith negotiations, meaning Alberta needs to go into a meeting room with the federal government and the other provinces and say, 'alright, we've got national parks here; we've got military bases in Alberta. We'll pay you, the federal government, a certain amount of money for those bases and national parks,'” Wilson explained. “The other path is if the parties don't enter into good faith negotiations,” he continued, noting that was “something we're very concerned about here in Alberta.” This route could see a “unilateral declaration of independence,” something that “relies on international recognition,” he cautioned. “If the United States and other countries are prepared to recognize Alberta independence, it creates a clear pathway,” Wilson told the American host. Wilson and Beck also discussed two other federal policies that are contentious in Alberta — the Liberal government's gun grab and its continued expansion of the Medical Assistance in Dying program. Independence campaigners assert they've collected enough signatures to trigger the citizen-led referendum, with a vote expected to take place in fall 2026.
