Young girls as young as 11 were groomed, drugged, and repeatedly raped by groups of Muslim men in towns across the UK. They were beaten, tortured, trafficked, and in some cases forced into so-called marriages while authorities looked the other way. I rather lost my rag yesterday at a poorly attended short debate on rape gangs and an inquiry. The government wants to talk about child sex abuse per se, but the question is why state agencies and public servants looked the other way in terms of these specific, organised rape gangs. Even now, the government and many in the media refuse to confront how a fear of being labelled racist is still concealing the truth.

We’ve heard nonstop speeches about “protecting victims.” But as a victim of sexual harassment inside this Capitol, I was denied justice. No transparency. No accountability. Instead? It was buried. And the moment I stood up to say it from the well… Majority Leadership moved to shut it down. The Majority Leader rushed to lay the bill over—using a rule most people have never even heard of. Silenced. Again. Let that sink in. They will preach about victims— but when it’s one of their own? They shut it down. They bury it. They move on. So yes, I’m slowing this process down. No Apology For Forming Labour Party – NLC President The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, has said that they owe no one any apology for forming the Labour Party. In an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday night, Ajaero stated that the party was created to enable regular Nigerians to run for office and win. He also noted that even Peter Obi, the party's standard bearer, is not a member of any labour organisation. Ajaero said in part, “We don’t have any apology for forming the Labour Party. Historically, the Labour Party is organised and formed by trade unions all over the world and I have said elsewhere that from early 1918 down the line to 1945, Michael Imodu came up with the Labour Party. In 1964, Imodu and others formed a party. “Within that time when Adams Oshiomhole was contesting the governorship, the Labour Party aligned with those that formed the APC, AD, the ACN then, to sponsor Adams for him to have a joint ticket and it wasn’t a crime if the Labour Party decides to form an alliance with the other political parties. “Thereafter, we changed to and decided to have our own political party and today we’re not in alliance with any political party. And we don’t have an apology for forming a political party that will be beneficial to all the ordinary Nigerians …all the members of the Labour Party are not workers. “They’re not members of trade unions.
