This 2v1 shooting game by Dusty May simulates a slot-to-slot pass in early offense. This works on your decision-making in the 2v1 situation. This is a common advantage in basketball. You can see the rim is always protected, so players have to find a ROB (range, open, balance) shot from behind the three-point line. The game encourages this. The reasoning is that if you want players to communicate in games, make them do it in practice. Teach players to give teammates reminders BEFORE they are needed. This drill serves as not only a quality warmup but it also reinforces the Man Left habits: correct closeout angles, help D, and Fake & Fade. It's not about you, it's about the team! And coaches... don't let your players be bush league. Teach them to act like champions. Takes balls to hold your players to a high standard. A lot can be learned from the video below. We need a lot more Coach Carters out there! 🙏🏻
