Our test for eye dominance is simple, but instructive. Identifying whether a golfer is same-side or cross-dominant can provide insight into their setup preferences in putting. Same-side dominant golfers often prefer the ball slightly farther back in their stance and tend to set up more open. A Big problem with many young kickers on kickoffs. A wide angle takes away from linear power and directional control. The tendency coming from the soccer field to kicking a football is to swing across your body. I see too many kickers really wide in their approach and yet they still kick the ball back to the left with the right foot. Notice how NFL kickers when they’re kicking the ball to the right are still not even as wide as some young kids are that are just blindly kicking the ball down the field, and more than likely expecting to pull it to the left. Then when they land on their follow through, they continue to trip over themselves for several steps because their swing is counterproductive to their bodies momentum

Tiger Woods is/was the best at making swing changes… he changed his swing 4 times… maybe more How did he do it? By not caring where the ball was going in the early stages. I’ve preached this from day 1 Recreational golfers are SO OBSESSED with ball flight when making changes that it stops you from focusing on what you actually need to, which is the body movement your making If Tiger didn’t care, why should you. If you’re not doing this, you’re losing power and stability in your swing. After a controlled load into the back hip, we have to be ready to unleash that stored energy into the ball. The only way to do this with both force and stability is by hitting against a strong front side — more specifically, our front heel. When we drive the front heel properly into the ground, it allows us to maximize both force and stability, enabling our mechanics to function correctly and generate gap-to-gap power! #softball #hitting #lesson

Most golfers place the club right behind the ball and never question it. Moe Norman did the opposite. By setting the club behind the ball, he effectively started part of the backswing before the swing even began. That meant less movement, fewer moving parts, and an easier path back to impact. The goal wasn't to create a unique look. The goal was to eliminate unnecessary motion. Less motion = less timing. Less timing = more consistency. One of the most efficient and least invasive opportunities to maximize distance with the driver is to optimize ball flight by controlling spin loft. We cover ball flight laws and keys to club fitting in our advanced Golf and Power courses. If a golfer has not had their clubs professionally fit, they are almost certainly forfeiting distance off the tee. 128mph club head speed & 190mph ball speed. If you listened to my podcast with Young-Hoo Kwon you will have heard him talk a lot about lateral and vertical motion in the swing (especially when speed is the goal). Summary (for maximizing your speed) : Shift right and up early in the backswing. Fall left and down in transition Then absolutely smash it I would have liked to see force plate data from this one. To any of the coaches / speed enthusiasts following, where can I improve for 200mph 😎😬?

When observing kinematic data of the best golfers in the world, side bend of the pelvis at setup is a variable that can distinguish iron from driver. The best drivers that we’ve evaluated tend to have their lead hip higher at setup while keeping more weight on their trail side. This orientation helps facilitate a more positive angle of attack with the driver versus a descending blow with an iron.

A flexed (bowed) lead wrist is a swing style. It only suits a few, we only see it on a few. Within it there are different club face positions too with DJ and Rham opposite ends of the spectrum. It requires precise and intricate match-ups. I’m see most people who try it, get the club behind them to early or “react” to the face not “match up”. Many internet-gurus would have you believe that all you need to do is flex your wrist, shift and spin and you’ll be amazing. For the majority that’s totally not the case. Swing your own swing and don’t follow fashion. Golf historically has trends (drive your knees-Nicklaus’s, Stack n tilt etc). All have merit but they are not the only way to do it and often don’t work for the majority. Swing your own swing and don’t follow the sheep. 🐑

One of my favourite drills for those golfers who "CAST" the golf club &/or lose their wrist angles to early in their swing... The "Underload/Overload" drill Yes, It will feel weird at first, yes, you will hit some crappy shots, but video your swing to see the difference it makes Then once you've worked on it a little bit, don't exaggerate it as much and you'll start to feel this work more naturally (in time) Give it a go 👊

When we saw Wyndham Clark in 2025, he was sliding excessively towards the target on the downswing with his irons. One of our favorite drills for helping golfers eliminate slide is lead leg only swings. By removing the trail leg, the golfer is forced to stabilize and rotate over their lead side rather than slide past it. Any excess lateral movement is amplified immediately, so the body starts to learn to post up and turn around a firm front side. The payoff is a more stable low point and more consistent contact with the irons.
