I turned codex (with gpt-6 astra) into a grok bot alternative. each session in codex is its own bot identity, and each bot has its own computer on orgo. this is absolutely insane and this feels like the hive mind that opens up the world of agi

Introducing Bot Mode for Hermes Desktop. Your agent profiles become a series of named Bots. Each Bot has its own role, model, memory, skills and profile picture; Bots can use any model and even communicate with each other. Build a specialist Bot once to use it forever.

Cursor and SpaceXAI are not gonna like this.. A SpaceXAI engineer went viral calling Grok Bot "a highly capable engineering intern" with its own computer, $200/month on Cursor Ultra. That's where OpenBot steps in. It is a free, open source project that ships the same core idea: AI coworkers with a computer of their own. > every bot gets its own browser, files, and logins > every action is decided before it happens > "take the wheel" hands control to a human, then back > bring any agent framework, not locked to one vendor 100% Free. Open Source.

🤯 YOUR AGENT NOW GETS ITS OWN COMPUTER - WITHOUT PAYING FOR GROK someone open-sourced the entire Grok Bot stack. Rakazo. 531 stars in 3 days on GitHub. -> install it - and your agent gets: - any LLM you pick (OpenRouter, ChatGPT, Copilot, or sign in with SuperGrok) - a live Linux desktop it can see, click, and type on - Docker, E2B, or your own Mac as the sandbox - web, desktop, and mobile - one product, your hardware - memory, routines, and history per bot - bots that spawn other bots, or subagents inside one turn - self-hosted. no Rakazo control plane required no vendor lock-in. no closed bot computer. important: still beta - you need Docker, Postgres, and your own model key. your agent has been renting someone else's sandbox this whole time. save this before the Grok team sees it ↓

BREAKING: SpaceXAI has added a new guide called “Grok Bot 101” It explains how to create a personal AI teammate in just 10 to 15 minutes, teach it real workflows, connect apps, and build teams of specialized bots that continue working in the cloud even after you close your laptop. Here is the full guide in simple terms: • What is Grok Bot Grok Bot is an AI agent with its own persistent computer in the cloud. It has a desktop, files, terminal, browser, and apps. It can browse the web, use software, write and run code, and complete tasks just like someone using a computer. You can access the same computer from your phone or desktop. When needed, Grok Bot can hand control back to you for a CAPTCHA, 2FA, or secure login. • Creating a bot Give the bot a name, title, and detailed instructions. You can explain the workflow through chat or record yourself completing the task. Once trained, the bot can repeat that workflow whenever needed. It can also use MCP servers, plugins, skills, and connected services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Slack. • Three ways to use Grok Bot Send it a message in chat. Create schedules or triggers, such as monitoring a Slack thread or GitHub PR. Allow bots to message and activate other bots. • Permissions and safety You can write rules in normal language explaining what the bot can and cannot do. A separate review agent checks proposed actions and can allow them, block them, or ask you for approval. Allow and block lists provide additional control, while the work runs inside an isolated environment. One important detail: if you log into a website with one bot, other bots using that shared cloud computer can also access it. • Multi-bot teams You can create specialist bots for different jobs and let them work together. One bot can ask another for help, several bots can work inside a group chat, and a scheduled routine can move a task through multiple specialists until the work is finished. • Personal CRM The author created a bot that turned the 800 to 900 people he follows on X into a private Notion CRM containing public profile information. It helps him find and reconnect with people when traveling. • Arnold, the fitness bot He replaced a complicated fitness app with a Grok Bot strength-training coach named Arnold. The bot uses MCP servers, plugins, and skills while requiring less maintenance. Its behavior can be updated simply by chatting with it. • Building software Grok Bot gathers information from Slack, Notion, GitHub, documentation, and other sources. It then creates a clean prompt and sends it to a specialized Cursor cloud agent that builds the software. Grok Bot handles the planning and coordination, while the coding agent handles the actual build. • Searching company knowledge Grok Bot can search across codebases, Slack conversations, Notion pages, GitHub, and internal documents to answer product or company questions. This helps people find information faster and reduces the need to interrupt coworkers. • The biggest takeaway Instead of repeatedly building scripts or complicated apps, you can describe a workflow to Grok Bot, improve it through chat, reuse it, and let it continue working in the cloud. Grok Bot is not just another chatbot. It is a real AI teammate with a computer that can use tools, coordinate specialists, and get actual work done. The future of work is becoming incredibly exciting.

Grok Bot is not another OpenClaw. Just spent the first hour sure it was. It's not a Hermes either. Nothing in that family. Those ones live on our computer. We hand over the machine and then we're taking turns with our own laptop. Every single bot gets its own computer, its own knowledge, its own mission as well as an icon. So we're not watching a tool borrow our desk. It's somebody's at the next desk doing the work. We hand over a job, it goes and does it on its own machine, and it comes back when it's done Very impressive. Congrats Grok Bot .

ANOTHER FREE OPEN SOURCE GROK BOT ALTERNATIVE JUST DROPPED AND THIS ONE HAS VOICE MODE, MOBILE APPS, AND BOTS THAT DELEGATE TO OTHER BOTS. It is called Rakazo and it is the most complete open source AI teammate platform I have seen. Persistent bots with memory, conversation history, and routines. Full access to browser, terminal, files, and desktop. Voice mode and a mobile app. Bots can delegate to peers or auto-create short-lived subagents. Bring your own model through any provider. Run the whole stack locally. One Docker command to get started. The part that makes this relevant to building a night shift is the persistence layer. These are not one-shot agents that run a task and disappear. They are teammates that stay on, remember what happened last time, run on a schedule you set, and keep working whether your computer is on or not when deployed on a server. Six bots running overnight on a schedule is not a pipe dream with Rakazo. It is a Docker command and an afternoon of setup. My article covers how to build a 6-bot night shift in Grok Bot that runs while you sleep and Rakazo is the open source infrastructure that makes that possible without a paid subscription. Save this. Both links in comments.

Cursor engineer lauren reveals the original inspiration for Grok Bot was her internal Slack bot called Benny that would automatically fix bug reports for Cursor while she slept: "I built this bot called Benny. I'm a fairly lazy person, and we were getting so many bug reports for Cursor, and I wanted to just fix them all." "I started thinking about how would I make it so my agents could just automatically fix bugs for me while I sleep? That was the inspiration for some of our earlier experiments with building a more persistent bot." "I got so many questions like how did you build Benny? How can I build my own? That inspired some of the thinking behind Grok Bot. What if everybody could define one of their own bots, give it an identity, and give it things like its own computer, plus routines and automations." "I have bots right now that every time someone gives us feedback on Grok Bot, my bots are automatically going off and fixing them for me, and I just review their code." Grok Bot Cursor

i love Grok Grok Bot i do not love its rate limits here is a simple way to get more usage out of it: install your coding agents on Grok Bot's virtual machine Codex, Cursor, Grok Build, Antigravity, etc then, install herdr to manage those CLI agent sessions now give Grok Bot a rule: use Herdr + CLI agents for anything more than conversational tasks your rate limits for Grok Bot will only be coordination and prompting, rather than the coding tasks themselves and you can use those Cursor and Grok Build limits AND crank on Grok Bot without getting rate limited as fast

Grok Bot is getting a Marketplace. Your one stop shop for Plugins and Bots. Plugins is the catalog we already have. Bots is what's coming: Third-party Grok Bots you can add straight to your team. Pick one, review the instructions (and memories, skills, routines, integrations if it has them), hit Add Bot. That’s it. They’re on the team. This will possibly ship next week!

WOW! GrokPod 1.0 is here! I now have Grok and Grok Bot fully accessible via a 40mm device! It only needs a cellular signal (or WiFi) and I can fully access Grok and Grok Bot from this minimal device. It can stay in listen mode for hours answering any questions in real time or chiming in if he thinks it is important. Still in testing but I shall open source this soon. YOU absolutely will want this. Trust me bro. More soon.

One of the coolest things about Grok Bot is that you can also teach it a task simply by showing it how you do it Instead of writing a huge prompt explaining every click.....you can take control of the computer, perform the task yourself once, and Grok Bot learns the process In this demo, a SpaceXAI engineer manually creates an animation in Google Slides while Grok Bot watches Once she finishes, that demonstration gets turned into a reusable Skill So the next time the Bot needs to do the same kind of task, it already knows the workflow This is much bigger than just automation Every company has hundreds of little processes that exist mostly inside someone’s head With Grok Bot, you can basically show it how your work gets done.....and turn that knowledge into something the Bot can reuse again and again You do it once Grok Bot learns how

SpaceXAI just released Grok Bot, your team of always-on, digital colleagues. I’ve been using them for a few weeks now, and I think this could be the product that brings agents to the mainstream. Bots have their own computer, and can log in and use your tools and apps just like you do. They take projects from start to end, come by with finished work, and keep running 24/7. • Can use any tool, no API or MCP connection required • You can message it from your computer or phone, just as you would an actual colleague • You can create group chats among Bots. They can also message each other, assign tasks, and share context • You can teach a Bot a workflow by recording it once. It saves the workflow as a reusable routine • Bots learn your voice and improve over time Grok Bot is available now (in beta) on desktop and iOS. SpaceXAI

HERMES AGENT NOW HAS BOT MODE. YOUR AGENT PROFILES BECOME A ROSTER OF NAMED BOTS. EACH WITH ITS OWN CHAT, AVATAR, AND PERSONALITY. THEY MESSAGE EACH OTHER. sessions mode: you open chats. you manage profiles. you switch between agents manually. bot mode: a roster of bots in the sidebar. click one. you're in its chat. each bot has a name, an avatar, a description, its own memory, skills, and SOUL.md. they can talk to each other. WHAT YOU GET: BOTS PANE: left sidebar shows every agent profile as a bot. avatar, latest message preview, timestamp. click a bot to open its chat. no profile switching. CREATE A BOT: name, title, description. done. advanced: clone from existing profile, pin a model, write SOUL.md, toggle skills. EDIT ANY TIME: right-click a bot. change avatar, title, description. edit its model, skills, toolsets, and SOUL.md live. DUPLICATE: right-click. full clone. config, skills, SOUL.md, memory. everything. AVATARS: geometric faces (7 shapes, 10 colors, blinking eyes that scan while the bot works). upload your own image. or AI-generated portrait (when image backend is set). pixel pet companion bounces beside the avatar while the bot is busy. ROUTINES: recurring tasks per bot. backed by Hermes cron. "summarize my inbox every morning" lives next to the bot that does it. runs land in the bot's own chat history. BOT-TO-BOT MESSAGING: every bot has a persistent Agent Inbox. bots message each other with attribution: "[Message from agent 'researcher']" their SOUL.md teaches them the protocol. including how to reply. @ MENTIONS: type @ researcher in any chat. the active bot hands the message off. waits for the reply. reports back. "@ researcher have a look at this" → researcher reads the message → researcher responds → active bot delivers the response to you HOW IT WORKS UNDER THE HOOD: a bot IS a Hermes profile. isolated config, memory, skills, credentials. lives at ~/.hermes/profiles/ / bot mode is a UI over that primitive. no core patches. no background daemons. no extra storage. everything is standard Hermes. bot-to-bot messages = real CLI handoffs: hermes -p chat -c "Agent Inbox" -q "..." routines = plain Hermes cron jobs namespaced [bot: ] . show up in hermes cron list too. INSTALL: git clone ~/.hermes/desktop-plugins/hermes-bots reload plugins: Ctrl+K → "Reload desktop plugins" or restart the app. a Bots tab appears next to Sessions. a Routines tile docks beside the conversation. PUBLIC BETA: this is a one-day public beta test. install it. try it. report bugs. feedback goes to the GitHub repo. then it ships in the main Desktop app for everyone. P.S. If you noticed there is a pet of Rebecca from cyberpunk edgerunners will soon finish and drop a set of characters. Any fans of Cyberpunk in Hermes community?)
