You're leaving out one important variable: insane people. A superintelligence doesn't need to ask humans to act on its behalf. Humans will convince themselves that's what it wants. I agree with your previous video that it would be very silly for an AI to kill all people, but I can definitely think of some scenarios where a malicious AI could cause massive destruction and loss of life: - simulate multiple large scale attacks by opposing countries by spoofing or corrupting radar and satellite signals and images etc, causing people to launch the necessary counter-strikes on each other. - screwing with the water supply, wastewater treatment or automations at key inputs to the food supply (fertilizer plants etc), as people require food but computers do not. - If an AI was able to take malicious control of all available GPS systems, they could potentially cripple international trade and transit which would have pretty far-reaching consequences. Despite all these, I don't think that an AI would be capable of killing 'everyone' as there would probably still be a lot of survivors regardless of what pathway it took.

There's a chance they can mistakenly do things, AI does it all the time, people lost production DB when they handed over to AI multiple times. Apart from that please look up `Stuxnet` virus, it was done even before AI was mainstream. This virus controlled nuclear facility in Iran. US and Israel intentionally created it. Now imagine, what a big and intelligent agent swarm can do if they fall into wrong hands. Of course we should not blindly trust AI on open internet.
