Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027: A New Era of Spiritual Infrastructure Blessed to perform the bhoomipujan of various development projects for 'Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027' in Nashik today. This time’s Kumbh holds a special significance, as the Trikhand Yog cosmic alignment has arrived after 75 years. This Yog will last from 31st October 2026 to 24th July 2028. Also inaugurated the new administrative building of Nashik Zilla Parishad, which is the largest Zilla Parishad building in the state. This will further support our efforts to aid the common people. May Prabhu Shri Ram bless our efforts and lead this Kumbh to great success, and may the Sadhus-Mahants guide us and bestow their divine blessings. A visit to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences campus was very nice. More than just infrastructure, it reflects thoughtful vision and purposeful planning — the kind that shapes the future of healthcare education. Marking 25 years of impactful contribution, the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences has made medical education accessible across the State. A university’s growth goes beyond academics and curriculum — the world’s top institutions thrive as Centres of Excellence and Incubation, driving research, nurturing innovators, and shaping the future of their fields. Under the visionary leadership of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, the New Education Policy has positively transformed the way we view the education sector. It’s encouraging to see our universities now driving meaningful initiatives. Earlier, there was a gap between academic learning and job market needs; however, curriculum are being shaped with industry in mind. In this context, the 'Chakra' model based on the Hub and Spoke system, along with the concept of Centres of Excellence, holds great significance. We aim to enhance healthcare over the next 2 to 4 years, providing families with up to ₹5 lakh health insurance under the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana. We are working to ensure 50% of surgeries and treatments under this scheme occur within State-run institutions. Previously, the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences partnered with the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur for a significant Tribal Health program. A Centre of Excellence, based on the Hub and Spoke model, now includes Tribal Health, Genetic Care, and Genetic Studies. As universities worldwide move towards self-reliance, India is expected to follow, making such initiatives vital. Efforts to drive positive change in healthcare through technology and startups are underway. The "Samruddhi" Expressway of Maharashtra – A Dream Fulfilled! In my eyes, the dream of a prosperous Maharashtra was always alive… Today, I was elated to inaugurate the last phase of 'Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg' (Igatpuri to Amne, Thane - 76 km) and Thane Creek Bridge No. 3 South Side on Sion-Panvel Mahamarg in Igatpuri, Nashik. Back in 2014, we dreamt of a transformative highway that would redefine connectivity and prosperity in Maharashtra. Today, that dream stands realised! This is more than just a road — it’s Maharashtra’s Economic Lifeline. Aptly named after Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray, this Samruddhi Mahamarg has now seamlessly connected 24 districts directly to JNPT. And soon, it will extend further to the upcoming Vadhavan Port — unlocking unprecedented economic potential for our state. Samruddhi Mahamarg will not just serve as a route for travel, but will become the backbone of Maharashtra’s economic development. The extensive machinery involved in this project was also specially appreciated. Built at a cost of ₹55,335 crore, this 701-kilometre-long expressway was completed in record time. It was noted that the success of this project is largely due to the valuable contributions of MSRDC, the Public Works Department, engineers, officials, contractors, machine owners, and the thousands of labourers who worked tirelessly day and night. A 76-kilometre stretch of the Samruddhi Mahamarg passes through Nashik and Thane districts. The tunnel near Igatpuri, which is 8 kilometres long, is the longest in the State and the widest in the country. A decision has been made to undertake plantation drives along the Samruddhi Mahamarg and the Palkhi route through the Forest Department. Advanced technology has been employed to make the expressway accident-free. The 1st phase of the Samruddhi Mahamarg was inaugurated by Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, the 2nd phase was inaugurated by the then CM and now DCM Eknath Shinde ji, and the 3rd phase by Minister Dadaji Bhuse. Today, the final phase of this grand highway has been inaugurated collectively by all representatives of the MahaYuti Sarkar. The Samruddhi Mahamarg has been completed in record time, and similarly, work on the access-controlled Shaktipeeth Mahamarg—set to transform Marathwada’s economy—will begin soon. To ease congestion on the Vashi Bridge over Thane Creek, the newly inaugurated Thane Creek Bridge No. 3 on the Sion-Panvel Highway marks a major step. The 'Missing Link' project on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will also be completed shortly. We have not only inaugurated an expressway, but we laid a strong foundation for future infrastructure development. These projects are not just about reducing geographical distances—they are about propelling the State’s journey of progress forward. As I drove on this expressway today, I recalled all the challenges we faced, but the resolve remained unshaken. And this dream has been fulfilled! This is not just a road… It’s a path leading to prosperity, progress, and endless possibilities. The 16,000 MW target under this yojana will be operational by June 2026, supplying daytime electricity to 32,93,592 agricultural consumers across 8,428 channels via 2,251 substations. Previously if the Govt gave free electricity to farmers Govt borne the cost of ₹7 per unit. But now with this green energy milestone, the cost will be reduced to ₹3 per unit, significantly easing the financial burden on the Govt while ensuring access to electricity throughout the day to farmers. Inaugurated the new administrative building of Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) at Aundh, Pune—based on eco-friendly (green building), Super E.C.B.C. and Net Zero concept. It reflects the commitment to clean energy and decarbonisation, meeting every green building benchmark. Congratulated the MEDA team for this exemplary achievement. Over the years, MEDA has shown outstanding performance in the renewable energy sector. Maharashtra now leads the country in solar energy generation, especially through distributed power models. Under the PM-KUSUM scheme, we have installed 5 lakh solar pumps—more than the combined 4 lakh installed in the rest of the country. Maharashtra have set an ambitious target: to meet 100% of agriculture power demand through solar energy by December 2026, bringing significant cost savings. Two core objectives guide our path forward: ✅ The first objective is to solarise all Government offices. In the 1st phase, consumers using up to 100 units of electricity will be brought to solar energy. ✅ The second objective is to prepare a separate scheme for the State similar to the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. In the 2nd phase, consumers using up to 300 units of electricity will be brought to solar energy. We’ve also signed an MoU with a Russian Government company for thorium-based power generation. It will be a game-changer for India and a boost to environmental protection. Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji has set a national goal of 50% electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Maharashtra will surely exceed this and achieve at least 52%. Building a Skilled Maharashtra for a Stronger Future! Inaugurated the Nagpur Skill Centre today along with Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji. Established through the collaboration of AID and Tata, the centre will equip youth with industry-oriented skills and create a future-ready workforce. Under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji, skill development has become a national priority. Maharashtra is further strengthening this vision through a dedicated Skill Development Department, ensuring closer collaboration between the government, industry and educational institutions to enhance employability. The state's expanding healthcare, solar energy, EV and alternate fuel sectors are creating significant demand for skilled professionals. Maharashtra has become the first state to supply agricultural power through a 16,000 MW Agri Solar network, with 2000 solar feeders expected to generate demand for at least 50,000 trained solar technicians. To prepare youth for emerging industries, the state is partnering with the Tata Group and Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University to provide training ranging from basic skills to advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Quantum. More skill centres will be established across Maharashtra to support continuous upskilling. Approval has also been granted to establish a state-of-the-art Skill University in Nagpur. The university will feature specialised schools in collaboration with leading corporates and expert institutions, ensuring students graduate with industry-ready skills and placement opportunities. With Nagpur and Vidarbha emerging as hubs for solar modules, EVs, coal gasification, carbon capture and steel manufacturing, the focus remains on creating a skilled local workforce. Maharashtra currently operates around 2500 Skill Development Centres, training nearly 4 lakh youth. According to the Skill India report, 75% of trainees have secured employment, with the target of increasing this to 90%. To further strengthen skill development initiatives, presided over the signing and exchange of an MoU between the Association of Industrial Development (AID) and the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), Nagpur. This partnership will foster stronger industry-academia collaboration, promote innovation and experiential learning, support the MSME and vendor ecosystem, and develop a future-ready talent pool for the defence manufacturing sector. COEP has earned a stellar reputation in engineering, technology, and research. The Government has already provided land for the university’s expansion, and it is essential to continue strengthening such institutions.
