(As a note, while what we see here is pure fiction, and in real life the shuttle could not fly like this, the Soviet Buran did have in testing, two engines similar to the Su-27 for reentry maneuver, so, in theory, it could do this. On its only space flight, the "flight engines" were not used)

In Anime there exists shows that represent an end of an era. The Anime that represented the end of the Super Robot Genre was 1980's Space Warrior Baldios. Despite adopting a much more serious tone than all previous Super Robot Anime it was a commercial failure, of the 34 episodes made only 31 were aired. It couldn't compete with Gundam & Space Runaway Ideon & was why Anime committees pivoted towards Real Robot Anime. Despite it's commercial failure Space Warrior Baldios is a hidden gem & an important show in the history of Anime.

NACHO RESTORATION OF DICK CLARK SPACE ODDITY “And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear...” Today sees the anniversary of the release of the Alabama Song/Space Oddity 45 on 15th February 1980. Space Oddity had been recorded in a 3-song session in London with Tony Visconti, specifically for the Will Kenny Everett Make It To 1980? Show, which was broadcast on 31st December 1979 in the UK. A few days later, on 4th January 1980, Bowie’s appearance on the Sensational Shocking Wonderful Wacky 70's was broadcast on NBC in the US. Produced and presented by Dick Clark, the show featured our man miming to the original 1969 US single edit of Space Oddity. Wearing a Willy Brown designed blue/green jump suit, with a hand-drawn graphic pattern inspired by Le Corbusier, Bowie accessorized with 3 flying saucer shaped pin buttons. The overall effect was future nostalgia. Bowie gave a straight-faced delivery straight to camera to stunning effect, with slicked back hair and looking icy cool throughout. An on-set image shot by Steve Schapiro was used for the Alabama Song/Space Oddity 45 foldout sleeve.
