Most people over tighten their oil filter with a wrench. Hand tighten snug is sufficient to seat the rubber seal for no leaks.

The first tool actually works, you just have to have an IQ over 15 to use it.

Why would you tighten more than hand tight ?

Don't know what car that is, but that is pure shit engineering to put the filter in that location and geometry.

They’re going to have the same problem removing the new filter. Hand tighten only 1/2 to 3/4 turn after gasket contact.

you don't need a filter wrench to put an oil filter on, only to take it off and if you need one for that it's likely put on too tight.

not a fan of those oil filter wrenches and thats a great tip with a band and a spanner to get that off. i use one of these affiliate link. it can be used for other things too, ive tightened plumbing parts with this and even open a stubborn glass jar lid 😂

If you are going to change your own oil, just buy the proper filter wrench. It will last a lifetime.

Why wouldn’t you prime the filter first…? 🤔🤔

First grab hold of it and turn. Usually a good twist will do it.

You didn’t wipe it clean and lubricated it with old oil? Come on, you can put a little effort into it.
