This traffic circle has been a long-standing pain point for me on FSD. As you can see, the car consistently drives in the bike lane here. I’ve documented this behavior before on FSD 12, 13, and now 14. The issue appears to stem from outdated map data. This section of the circle used to function as a two-way roadway. At the time, there was no bike lane and vehicles traveled in the space FSD still prefers today. Since the redesign, that area is now a dedicated bike lane, but FSD doesn’t reliably recognize the change. Depending on the version, it will occasionally handle this correctly, but most of the time it does not. This is currently the only issue I consistently experience with FSD. It’s not safety critical. The car will move if a cyclist, vehicle, or object is present, but reliance on outdated map data in locations like this needs to improve.

Nothing But Nets: Tesla FSD v13.2.9 Aces 520-mile Trip Without Interventions On Thursday, I completed my return drive from Des Moines to Minneapolis, with FSD Supervised v13.2.9 flawlessly handling the 260-mile journey without any issues or interventions. Both legs of the trip totaled 520 miles, all driven autonomously by Supervised FSD. I could fly this route, but using FSD is a no-brainer. FSD slams on the brakes for a cat in the road that doesn’t even exist. This is FSD 12.6.4 on HW3, which is a lot more sensitive to shadows & objects in the road with the 2026.8.6 update. There are many reports of brake stabbing. It brings me back to the days when I was testing with v10.3 of FSD back in 2021. It’s interesting that it’s the same FSD version as before, and not something like 12.6.4.1, but I guess Tesla can change the weights without changing the version. And they’ve likely been doing this for a while with 12.6.4. 😒

It's wild that people post videos of themselves blatantly breaking the law like this. Look, obviously, the idea of being able to do something else, like work, while driving is extremely appealing, but you just can't do it like that. Tesla FSD v14 is extremely impressive, but the best data we have right now points to a critical intervention every ~2,000 miles on average. Human drivers crash about every ~400,000 miles on average. You will hurt yourself, or God forbid, someone else, if you keep doing this, as you won't be able to intervene properly. I know some don't believe because they blindly believe Tesla's claim that "FSD is 10x safer than human drivers", but that's the most misleading claim ever. First off, the data is cherry-picked. I do believe that driving on FSD is safer than driving without, but closer to a factor 3x based on the best, not-Tesla-massaged, data. But more importantly, that's 3x safer than FSD plus human. Not just FSD. It is safer because it is supervised by a human paying attention and correcting the system when needed. If you use it like this guy, you are not safer. Period.

FSD V13 treats oncoming lane as a turn lane? I’ve never had this happen with FSD before, but it used an on coming lane as a staging lane during a left hand turn. It felt bizarre since I wasn’t expecting it, and I’m not sure what its logic was to think it should do it? Thoughts?

Rivian Universal Hands-Free vs Tesla Self-Driving This was my first time testing Rivian's new Universal Hands-Free, and I was honestly surprised by how it performed. I understand this is their first attempt and it will only improve from here, but truthfully, it is worse than any version of FSD or Autopilot I have ever used. How to switch from FSD to AP to FSD while driving without having to stop the car. I love FSD but sometimes I prefer AP for highway driving. Mainly because FSD does not yet understand HOV lanes, so I find myself switching to AP when I will be on the highway for an extended period of time. The issue with this is you can easilly go DOWN while driving (FSD to AP) but you cannot come up UP without stopping the car (AP to FSD). My fix for this is create two identical profiles for yourself, but one of them has FSD enabled and the other has AP enabled. This video showcases me using that, and shows a kind of funny bug that I didn't notice until later. When you switch from FSD to AP by changing profiles you get the FSD visuals while in AP (until you disable and re-enable it). It would be really nice to be able to do this without swapping profiles, again I love FSD but sometimes AP just suits the situation better. Ashok Elluswamy Tesla AI

In this video you see how the Tesla moves away from a bike on our lane and also moves away from a car that is parking on our lane. Driving with FSD is also very efficient. You also see how the car changes its plan last minute. End of the video it was blinking left to go to the left lane but changed plan and stayed on the right side. We now know that that was needed for the next intersection... Using all the cameras and data to make decisions that keep you moving forward the best way possible is very cool to see and efficient. V14.2.1 highway regression vs 14.1. In standard mode, FSD makes a maneuver into the left lane to pass a semi truck. Because they have jailed the speed limits of non mad max profiles, FSD cannot use acceleration to make this pass. So it ends up camping the left lane. In my right side view mirror, you can see someone coming up on my ass, and FSD is not getting back over. It’s also not speeding up to pass the semi because it is in speed jail. I had to scroll mad max to get through the maneuver. Def a regression from 14.1.

Did a lot of V14 highway testing today. Major, major improvements. Follow distance is way more comfortable and dynamic based on speeds. The car always gets to the left when it can as cars merge onto the highway. Way faster reactions to speed changes and way sooner. There was a broken down car blocking the right lane, and FSD shifted left before I even noticed it. I hated how closely V13 followed cars in fast moving, dense traffic. I also hated that I’d see traffic pattern changes ahead before the car seemed to notice. All of these anxiety triggers are completely gone now. Highway driving has been magic so far. Here’s a clip of FSD safely and flawlessly handling the shortest merge lane of all time.

If a vehicle is following in the adjacent lane at a safe distance and consistent speed, the ego car will often activate the turn signal and begin crossing the lane line before suddenly aborting the maneuver, pausing briefly, and then either proceeding with the lane change or abandoning it entirely. This behavior appeared in v14.2.1 and unfortunately persists in v14.2.1.25. While it is not a safety issue per se, it is definitely one that needs to be addressed, as it causes confusion and frustration for all surrounding drivers on the road when it occurs. The end of this video during my drive back is the only weird thing I've experienced on FSD V14.1.1. I think FSD thought it will in an oncoming lane, but it would have been fine if it stayed there since it's a one way street.
