Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she is going to convince B.C. Premier David Eby to support a new oil pipeline through his province. "I know that he is on Team Canada and I can't imagine in the end that if we meet the issues that have been raised by British Columbia that he would go off Team Canada," says Smith. "That doesn't seem to me to be the type of person that David Eby is."

The new pipeline to the West Coast will be reinforced by taxpayer dollars because the private sector doesn't trust our government and red tape to get anything done 🤦🏼‍♂️ Danielle Smith: "So, we have pipeline companies that have literally spent billions of dollars in recent years on failed regulatory approval processes. That's the environment we're finding ourselves in. To make sure that the private sector proponents understand that this is a real process, there's a real commitment on the part of all three, parties... we want to make sure that that company knows that we're walking this path with them so that we can get it to the end." Wow. The private sector doesn't trust the government and doesn't want to invest in this. Taxpayers and now on the hook because the government won't remove their own red tape and the Alberta MOU agreed to this whole thing. WTAF⁉️

I'm not a fan of this UCP oil pipeline endeavor that will line up connected pockets and I'm sure as heck not in favour of this: Danielle Smith: "We have a facility called the Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation where we have the ability to underwrite up to $3B in loan guarantees so that Indigenous Nations are able to take equity stake." Taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook nor rewarding a selected group of people nor should we be forcing oil&gas companies (any companies) to arbitrary partnerships. This is essentially bribing. Close that department down. The fact that this is even a stipulation to the project speaks to why we just can't get anything done in Canada.
