Did you know that many C64 and ZX Spectrum games were developed on a Tatung Einstein computer? The Tatung was used to edit/assemble and deploy the code to the target machine via a serial/parallel link. Here's the editor in action loading Bubble Bobble source code for the Spectrum

Konami’s Ping Pong for MSX (1985). Fast-paced and surprisingly deep table tennis simulation based on their classic arcade game. The original was the first video game to reflect the gameplay of table tennis, as opposed to earlier simplifications like Pong. Also released on other systems like Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, Famicom Disk System and ZX Spectrum.

The Amiga port of Pang (aka Buster Bros.), published by Ocean Software in 1990, is considered a spot-on arcade conversion and one of the finest arcade ports on the platform, receiving critical scores of 90% and higher. With its simple mechanics and relatively reduced scope, it was possible to adequately fit in the extremely tight deadlines of the computer niche, and coupled with the technical skill of the Ocean France development team, delivering a compelling result. Not only on the Amiga, but also on other classic computers of the era.

Robocop the movie was made into an equally impressive Commodore 64 game...with an issue! Released in 1988 by Ocean Software, it was infamous for being rushed out incomplete. On Level 4 (the warehouse/factory stage), the game hits a massive bug where the graphics become completely corrupted and the level is nearly impossible to finish. Developers reportedly lowered the time limit on purpose so most players would never reach the broken part. That aside it was an awesome game, Zzap!64 magazine rated it a solid 89% and described it as "Good blasting fun from the outset. It's tough but it'll keep you hooked" Despite the bugs, the game has excellent visuals for the C64, Robocop himself has great sprite work and the music by Jonathan Dunn, top notch. Are you a fan of this game, did it give the movie the props it deserved? Finally, did you somehow manage to complete it?

5 facts you didn't know about Kung-Fu Master, the classic 1985 Commodore 64 game from Data East (Developed by Berkeley Softworks): 1) On level 1, you could hold down the Shift Key and G for a gun, as seen in the video. This only worked on level 1. 2) An add-on to the gun cheat: press Shift and G and stand still for 1 second to show "By Chris Hawley" and then reset to the start. 3) Chris Hawley never made another game. 4) The USA Floppy disk was a Flippy Disk. On one side was the Commodore 64 version and on the other (flip it over) had the Apple II version. 5) The game is loosely inspired by the Jackie Chan movie Wheels on Meals. Have you watched it, and do you see the similarity? Bonus fact: You may recognize the developer, Berkeley Softworks, from GEOS. This game and Karate Champ were the only two games they made before creating the very successful GEOS for the C64.

Mystic Warriors for arcade (Konami/1993). Run and gun ninja game from the team that did SUNSET RIDERS - which is actually being shown on the drive-in theater right before the first level boss there! Nice and underrated: no home versions during the 1990s. However, it finally received its first-ever home digital release on December 21, 2023, through Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives series for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Jensen Huang at GTC: "I expect data center build out to reach a trillion dollars, and I am fairly certain we're going to reach that very soon." "General purpose computing has run its course, and that we need a new computing approach." "In the past we wrote the software and we ran it on computers. In the future, the computer is going to generate the tokens for the software." "The computer has become a generator of tokens, not a retrieval of files."

The Bendix Central Air Data Computer is a gear-based analog computer used in 1950s fighter planes. It computed "air data" such as airspeed, Mach number, and temperature. We finally got it operational, hooked it up to some instruments, and got turning gears and spinning dials.
