Only ever got as far as combat with instructor a handful of times on C64...never saw the actual mission!😅😱 Too depressing & sore wrists to attempt it again after that! Great port,just tough!

ROBOCOP for arcade (Data East/1988), classic run-and-gun platformer based on the 1987 movie. It was very popular, leading to various home versions loosely based on it, for computers such as the ZX Spectrum and C64. Made by Ocean Software, the computer versions were major hits, specially in the UK.

Do you know The Simpsons animation? Konami made an arcade game using the Simpsons IP, and it was a lot of fun. I naturally expected it to be ported to home consoles and waited for it, but in the end, it never came out on any console. Interestingly, though, it was ported to PC. It had a few shortcomings, but I have great memories of playing it on a 386 computer and having a really good time. Anyone else play it?

Happy birthday, Bubble Bobble! It was released exactly 40 years ago today, on June 16, 1986. The arcade version was absolutely brilliant, being one of the first games to have a coop-multiplayer option. It was also one of the the most ported arcade games in history, with over 20 ports to home computers and consoles, including even the legendary TI-84 Plus (primarily a calculator). The port that got the highest praise and came closest to the original arcade experience was the C64 version. Excellent graphics, one of the most recognizable tunes , and great gameplay make Bubble Bobble a timeless classic. My brother and I played the crap out of this one back in the day, and we still load it up on my old C64 when he comes for a visit. It's like riding a bike, you never forget how to play Bubble Bobble.

The Simpsons Arcade Game (1991) is a classic side-scrolling beat 'em up by Konami featuring cartoon graphics and 4-player co-op. Goal is to rescue a kidnapped Maggie across Springfield locations. Also has brand new recordings by the show's voice actors. Among the three best-selling arcades of 1991, together with Street Fighter II and TMNT: Turtles in Time. Ported to the Commodore 64 and MS-DOS PC in 1991. Later released digitally for the Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Arcade) and PlayStation 3 (PlayStation Network) in February 2012, though it was later delisted.

Not many games had a better '80s vibe than California Games (Epyx, 1987). The disciplines were half-pipe, footbag, surfing, roller skating, BMX, and flying disc - quite the mix. Getting bonus points for hitting the seagull with the hacky sack, faceplanting over a crack in the sidewalk along the beach, or unsuccessfully diving for an overthrown frisbee; California Games was just a blast. Apart from being fun, it became Epyx's best-selling game, reaching half a million units by 1989. I remember it being a popular choice when my friends and I played (others being M.U.L.E. and Decathlon). I'm pretty sure that anyone who ever had a C64 also played California Games at some point. As brilliant as it was, its sequel was abysmal.

Because of that, it wasn’t the massive leap that Model 3 had been, but it still ended up getting a huge variety of games from not only Sega, but many other companies as well. Popular titles like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2 were also NAOMI-based games. What was disappointing, though, was the irony that Virtua Fighter 4 never came to the Dreamcast and was instead released on the PlayStation 2.

Small progress today on pieter (dot) com live now: Got a full BIOS working, and it runs the basic MS-DOS commands like EDIT and FORMAT, and added an old CRT screen around it for effect I tried to Format C: my drive and it literally does nuke itself 😂 Also added Jazz Jackrabbit for 🥨 Richard, but the idea is not just old games, we wanna have a real PC running on my site with mIRC and Netscape Navigator being able to open pieter(dot)com within itself! Update on networking: It seems JS-DOS only support IPX networking, which is nice for multiplayer games, but we need TCP/IP networking for it, for now I will try to get: - Netscape working - put the Pieter(dot)com HTML in a file and open that as the start page

Changmin is so real for that! 🍒 : at first, i really worried a lot [about our git it up stage]. since suho hyung also likes band music and also plays the guitar during his solo activities, we thought of doing something like that [band-style stage] but since this was supposed to be something we were showing as EXO, and EXO is all about performance, so we decided to do a performance stage! it was a really challenging stage. fortunately, people really loved it! 🦌 : and if you think about this EXO promotion.. honestly, i think the real starting point of it all was that stage from you two!

hyunjin talking about his vacation in iceland! 🥟: i recently went to iceland and it was really great! i highly recommend iceland. driving for 8 hours a day, there were moments like that but i managed to go all the way around. iceland is about the same size as korea, it's like going from seoul to busan and back. it was wonderful. 🥟: on the first day, it felt like autumn. on the second day, it was really warm like summer. on the third and fourth day, there was snowstorm and the car stopped. i felt like i was in winter but no buildings around, all surrounded by mountains and snow. it felt like paradise. seeing it right in front of my eyes, i didn't want to wear sunglasses. so i was really happy!

Dolph Lundgren gets his first leading role as He-Man, but it's Frank Langella as Skeletor who really steals the show. Cannon Films had high hopes for this, but production problems, a choppy script and maybe just bad timing meant it didn't prove to be "the Star Wars of the '80s." It's also an early outing for Courteney Cox, following on from Misfits Of Science, and has a great role for Meg Foster as Evil-Lyn.
